The last two times UK has traveled to Lawrence we have lost by avg. of 41 pts

I guess what Im trying to say is though everyone is talking about KU getting payback for last seasons beatdown, UK needs to realize the last 2 times we stepped foot in the Phog we got our Big Blue pants pulled down to the tune of 55 and 27 point humiliations.

You do realize we were greatly outmanned in those two games. It won't be that way this year.

Wasn't one of those games against the defending champions after we lost like 90% of our team and the other game was against a team who the majority of the roster would win a championship a few years later while we were mired in a stretch of 10 loss teams?

I would bet $50 that we would lose. Kansas has lost was 2 games at home I'm the last 10 years?

It will be a difficult challenge to win at Kansas. I think last time we lost at Kansas was one of Tubby's teams with Rondo at the point. My memory is it was just one of those games where everything just went wrong. We also took a severe beating at Kansas that was Pitino's fault. This was back when Roy Williams was still the Jayhawk coach. We were down big, but Pitino wouldn't call off the press. We got some revenge in the 2012 Championship, and last year's humiliation of Kansas was nice, but I still want more revenge. It would be great if this young team can rise to the challenge early to beat Kansas on the road.

well said but the last time we were there we were on probation and 0 nba players on our team and kansas was on one of their better runs of talent and teams. they will be fired up and we are really young so you'd have to pencil this in as a loss.

I'd be more concerned if it was an early (Nov.) game. Come Jan. 30th, the Cats will be fine.

This will be the hardest game we have...will have to play well to win, but we have their number

Kansas won't forget what we did to them last year either.

They'll be jacked to play us.

I am curious: Did anyone here attend the 150-95 thrashing in Lawrence in 1988/9? IIRC, it was 80-60 at the half.

No TV that year, so it's all just memories of Cawood's call for me.

We're not going to overpower and overwhelm this year. I think we all knew that anyway, but after last night it's pretty clear we're way over on the skill/finesse part of the spectrum and nowhere near the big and strong end of the spectrum.

I'll say this about Cal's team - something I can't really say about Tubby (and I shouldn't even mention Gillispie) - we've gone in and won against teams that were supposed to beat us on several occasions.

I don't expect a win at Kansas to be honest but I expect it to be a battle.

So, Meeksfor3 has started posts this week talking about Duke owning us and Kansas humiliating us.

What's next? UL won the last title in the state? Too bad we don't get to play UNC this year and cut into their record against us? Remember when we were point shaving back in the 50's?

I was there. I camped out for days to get the best student seating behind the Kansas bench.

I realize Kansas is still raw about being beaten like a drum by Kentucky. They are good at home too, but they can't win this game unless they are the better team. Kansas has no 1 to check Jamal Murray, and he is the difference maker. If Diallo plays, we will win a good game. If Diallo doesn't play, we embarrass them again.
