The last time we beat #1….

I was there. It was a keystone performance for the Woodson team, and I was disappointed that team didn't accomplish more.

But we are on the right path. GA is a respectable #1 team, but our coaches and players know we are good enough to win this game. It isn't like 2021, when we traveled to Athens with no realistic chance. We just need our offense to step up now.

Student at the time, got lucky. A friend couldnt make the game so had a spare ticket.

If we can handle the crowd noise, I think we can win. Its games like the 2007 lsu game that make you have hope.

I hope the Bayou Tigers beat the living snot out of Missouri. They have an elevated opinion of how they stack up against the SEC and I'd like them taken down a peg or two. Follow up the LSU beat down with one of our own and they can hole up in Columbia, MO and lick their wounds.

Have the print hanging on the wall. Was home drinking a few maybe 15. After the game went outside and let off mortar shell fireworks, wife could see them from her job. Our Daughter thought the house was going to implode. Great times!!

My wife and I were there as well. Funny at the end . After the stop was made there was complete silence for several seconds . People could not believe we had one . Then an incredible roar . Of course thousands of fans rushed the field .
however my wife and I just sat there . Enjoying every moment as Did thousands of other fans . After about 45 minutes the loudspeaker came on and the guy said “ ladies and gentlemen you have to go home “
best drive back to Louisville ever .

The response to the last play was priceless. I remember watching UK's players looking for the refs to confirm what just happened. Like you said after 3-4 seconds the place went crazy. Been a UK FB fan over 50 years and that was the greatest moment in a game I can remember.

I attended. Great game! Woodyard was fantastic.

That team was good enough to do so much more but had that typical Kentucky football curse on them.
Losing to teams we had no business losing to

I was at that game. The LSU fans were pretty cool all day. Their band danced around while playing all game. Fun road team. I was in disbelief when we stopped them on 4th down.
Yes the whole thing was surreal. We had lost so many close games every way you can lose a game that the whole stadium could not believe it. I kept wondering “ where s the flag” . Was a beautiful evening weather wise as well. Perfect perfect evening for Wildcat fans .

Watched it at home and I know I yelled and screamed for five minutes when we won lol. Lost my voice for two days but it was worth it!

Played Florida extremely close the next week I believe but a few bounces didn’t go our way. Then gave away a few games we probably should have won.

Can’t do that this year. If we don’t pull this off can only allow ugalee to beat us once.

Team got dinged up and didn't have any depth along the OL and DL. This team does.

In my best life, we take them down in Athens, and the band has rehearsed and plays "As We Go Marching Through Georgia" post-game to the great consternation of the locals.

If they pull this off, it would be the greatest win in UK history. To defeat a #1 Ranked Team and Defending National Champion on their home field.

It would be so KY to beat uga but then turn around and play a stinker and lose to Missouri.

Dicky Lyons, Jr! "He got hit SO BAD."

The 2007 season was the first one I remember caring about. Went with my pops to the EKU game that year and it was the first time watching football where I understood the rules of the game. I watched UK light up the scoreboard and I was hooked.

I remember watching the LSU game live. Seeing Dicky Lyons Jr. pop that safety 3 feet in the air was something freaking else. The game was amazing. Victory, Kentucky!

Rich Brooks deserves statues and damn near everything to do with UK football named after him. Mumme showed us we could win with gimmicks, but Rich showed us we could win by being the better team, the harder working team, and the better coached team.

That season and that game changed the narrative for UK fans. It set the stage for Stoops and beyond.

Would be unprecedented waters for the program (in my years as a fan) to beat a #1 and then turn around to beat another ranked opponent immediately after.

Let's do it 🍻

I too was at the game and like you I was disappointed we didn’t do more, however I believe if memory serves me right. I remember like 4 SEC teams that year had a by week before they play us. The league screwed us that year with the schedule!

I’m just in Destin this week…but maybe I should hop on a plane and head south for good karma. 😉
I discovered Destin in the 80's when it was part of my territory as a sale rep based in Birmingham. Was the best kept secret the, a sleepy fishing village where the guys with money and boats hung out. Sandestin had just been developed. We would go there over the next ten years up and down the emerald aisle, but been a while now. Someone told me recently I wouldnt recognize it now.
