UK scored 42 in the 2nd half and won 61-51.
UK has an all time record at Bama of 28-23. Historically the Tide plays the Cats as tough as any team in the SEC on the road.

Anyone that thinks this will be a cakewalk needs to get a grip. Bama has four losses 3 on the rd. to tough teams and to Iowa St.

I'm expecting a war...

Cats by 6.

At Bama

Arkansas and Bama have been tough places to play for Cal. Fingers crossed we have a great outcome tomorrow.

The last time Bama hosted the #1 ranked team was 21 yrs ago in 1994 v the Hogs. Bama won by 2.
Our young men better be ready.

LOL this history just means nothing especially saying Cal hasn't won there crap as he has what played there 2-3 times? And them beating someone 22 years ago has even less to do with it. Bama is not very good , sorry . Now i guess we could play like we did last Saturday but i doubt it . UK 76 Bama 53 .

Looking at Jon Scott's site got me to checking our records against the SEC. I just laugh every time I read these records...good grief, Ole Miss...are you even trying?!

Alabama 103-37

Arkansas 25-11

Auburn 89-17

Florida 94-37

Georgia 117-26

LSU 85-25

Ole Miss 103-13

MSU 84-18

Missouri 7-0

USC 47-11

UT 150-67

A&M 5-2

Vandy 139-46

That's great but means very little. How many were we favored over the Aggies? We should have lost that game.
Listen, should UK win? Yes. Should they win handily ? Maybe. Will they win? Probably.
We are everyone SB, Bama has a good team and it's in Tuscaloosa.

We better knock down 7-10 threes while shooting no more than 20.

We're only favored by nine. So I figure this is our first loss.

The last two games in Bama were close and 2010-2011 with Knight, Jones, Miller, and Lamb we were down by 16 points 59-43 with 9 min. in the game. Then UK made a great comeback and outscored Bama down the stretch 23 - 9 and the score was 68-66 and Terrence Jones missed a 3 with 1 second left for the Bama win. In 2012-2013 with POY, Harrow, Goodwin, and Noel UK lead by as many as 13 points in 1st half and led by 9 at half 33-24. Then in the 2nd half Bama came back and Wiltjer went to the line with 1:20 left in the game and UK down 51-50 and missed the FT's for UK to regain the lead and Bama won 59-55. Both good games. Hopefully tomorrow the team to show up for Kentucky is the team that played great Tuesday vs. Missouri. If we are hitting our 3's like Tuesday and our Bigs are playing like they did against Missouri and we play great Defense then we should win by double digits.

Call me crazy but I don't have a good feeling about tomorrow. Hope the guys are energized to play on the road tomorrow.

I do see our freshman playing well on Saturday. For some reason they step up on road games

@ John Blue Means nothing, because that includes @ Rupp and SECT games. Since 1997, they are 4-5 @ Coleman. 18-18 in Coleman since it opened This is a very bad place to play for the Cats. Much like the old Stokeley Center.

I wouldn't go quite that far. Shooting 50% from three is more along the lines of what Bama better do, not UK. If UK keeps their turnovers down, and defends and rebounds like they are capable of doing, then they'll be fine, even if they don't shoot 50% from three as you suggest.

Actually, I'm impressed with the OP's maturity with taking our opposition serious. I'm not trying to disrespect him, but his early threads were sorta' notorious for proclaiming we would embarrass our opponents.

Obviously, the beat downs we gave Kansas and UCLA were impressive. Needless to say, at any level, it's difficult to play every single game at that high of caliber.

Call me a pessimist, but my old coach drilled into us to respect every opponent and never presume any wins would come easily. I think we beat Bama, but I try to limit my expectations of 20+ point wins-- especially in conference where teams and coaches are familiar with one another.

Despite the media's perception that the SEC is barely above a church-league level, we all know that SEC teams circle UK annually on their schedule. UK seems to be the only road opponent where the game is a near sellout and the opponent has their t-shirt blackout for a nationally televised game. The one game where students and alum actually make an effort to attend until Spring football resumes.

I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet.

I'm with you. While most all of us love Cal his record on the road in the SEC is not stellar. And as you note 'Bama has a habit of playing us tough. I say we take this one, but not as easily as some think.

It's true that UK hasn't beaten Alabama in Tuscaloosa since Calipari took over as the coach, but that stat is deceptive.

2009-10 no game at Alabama
2010-11 lost at Bama plus many others
2011-12 no game at Alabama
2012-13 lost at Bama, our NIT team
2013-14 no game at Bama

As you can see, Alabama has been forunate (or UK unfortunate) to miss the best teama UK has had in the last few years. talent wise I don't think many teams can beat that 2009-10 team. Then the 2011-12 team won the title. The 2012-13 team ended up in the NIT. last year's team didn't play the best during the season but came on strong late.

Bottom line: that stat is deceptive.

The '11 Bama game was the one where DMiller was shook and passed on the wide open look he had, thus Jones's jack from 3pt.

We should blow these guys out, they are football on the hardwood, no style, no flair, ugly plodding offense.....

I am not predicting, I don't want to jinx them, but can you really compare this team to the 2010-11 and 2012-13 teams that lost at Alabama?

Means more than a 1994 game that you referenced...

I think that was the Ole Miss game. At Alabama, I remember having a last chance to tie or win and Lamb and Knight collobarated on a turnover on a dribble handoff or something like that.

I just spoke to a friend of mine who lives outside of Tuscaloosa and he thinks Bama will win this game. Not because he's a big homer or anything but, because the Tide had literally no trouble against TAMU. That's a good point but, I also pointed out we followed that up with a 49 point drubbing of Mizzou. Anyway, he's going to the game, luck enough to get two tickets even though it's a sellout. This is their Super Tecmo Bowl, Punkin Chunkin Nationals, whatever you want to call it in basketball. This will be a very tough game for the Cats. I'll be happy with a 1 point win!

I just don't get why those of you saying that Kentucky isn't going to win by double digits are actually thinking. Do I think it COULD be close? Yes. Do I think it WILL be close? No.

Kentucky by at least 10-15. It could get ugly.

So far we have overperformed a lot when KenPom predicted close games and underperformed when he predicted huge victory margins, so take that as you will.

Don't be a little bitch. We're 16-0 and yes, it will be a tough game, but we will win.

I am pleasantly surprised.

This team is beyond special, they are scary good and played with poise today.

You had it all figured out but one thing. This is the best in the nation and they have more than proved that they love a challenge. This was never going to be a close game, not possible. Now the rebound game coming up at Rupp is prime candidate for a let down.
