And people have the audacity to wonder why we get no respect in the SEC.
Gotta beat ‘em at some point, at least before I die hopefully.
We are wayyyyyyyyyy overdue to lay a licking on them at Commonwealth Stadium....
Not just beat them on a last second FG or a last second broken play..... ...
Line up, be aggressive on offense and defense, and shoot for a big win.
And, yes, I said Commonwealth Stadium.
UT players and fans view our players as grocery sack boys.......absolutely NO RESPECT FOR UK FOOTBALL.
And it will remain that way UNTIL CMS stops playing "not to lose" against UT, and actually man up and see if we can beat them in an all out war....
That's how bad UT has been over that time period.... .yet our coaches continue to approach this game like a scared little brother.
I was at that game. Heartbreaking loss n 4 ot.
Then had to run over to Rupp to watch the legendary coach G coach lol.
By playing not to lose instead of attacking on defense and offense.
Playing ultra conservative to start these games has buried us early in most of these games and we are not built to play from behind on offense.
Never understood why we ran the clock down in regulation with 1st and 10 or goal I believe and decided to kick from the left hash. When they blocked the kick of course they were so close to returning it for 2 points, thought they had it. Anyhow, just another one of those moments where we snatched defeat from victory against UT.
UK's had ample opportunity to build its product while damaging TN's product over the years and have failed miserably. My god, the law of averages have to swing in UK's favor at some point. Big difference in the two programs....TN EXPECTS to win this game while UK HOPES to win. And it doesn't matter who the coaches or players are or have been, they all choke at an alarming rate. Will this year be different?

Had the flag been thrown how do they penalize it? Back us up 15 and try again .. assuming they would decline that if so. Pretty smart if that’s the penalty.
It was flagged, but they just moved on to the 3rd OT.
Not sure if there was an offsetting foul on UT or what, because the play-by-play shows we still started the 3rd OT at the 25. Not the 40. So either something offset it or those don't carry over in OT?
Game is a painful memory all the way around...I was at that one AND the OT loss in 2009 but of course missed the 2011 home game when we finally won.
Our DL stopping their running game may be the biggest key. TN is not good when they can't run the ball. Another big key is blowing up Pierce when he tries to get to Leary. Their top corner and leading interceptor (3) is out so that can only help some. Their QB does not like the pressure, can we get to him several times? Both teams ranked very high in penalties. Can we be the more disciplined team?
