Alabama lost their starter. They had to survive a play from the 2 yard line to win. QB1 matters.
He isn’t. He’s a big part. But the way the the defense showed their belly in the 2nd half was pathetic.
I honestly feel like the warning signs were there even when Levis played. We can’t pass protect or pass rush with any consistency, and that’s not a good combination in the modern game. There’s still time to improve, but I haven’t seen much evidence of that so far, and our schedule gets a lot harder in the next few weeks. It’s starting to look like this year might go down as a disappointment.
The troubling thing to me was their was no Sense of Urgency at anytime. I wonder at what time in the second half it dawned on them the season was over with a loss. Now some will say the season is not over but that attitude breeds what happened tonight. Do they play to win the East? Did they think if we show up we will win? Have they been reading their own headlines? In my mind this team is more disappointing than teams that played hard and lost. Hey UK Players, in the SEC every game has a sense of urgency because at real football schools what showed up on the field tonight gets the coach fired.
Especially loved the almost 6 minute drive that went 27 yards and resulted in a punt from midfield after SC went up by 10. Stoops is the only coach in America that will eat clock when his team is down 2 scores.
QB is huge in modern football and well beyond just being a single player in some one for one calculation.
Take away Mahones, Rodgers, or Jackson away from their teams and see what their chances fall to.
Disgusting effort by everyone on that field yesterday.
Lacklustre D play in the 2D Half was a big disappointment to me too. Knew the O would struggle, that's common sense but at some point you have to trust your players. UK didn't do that with Sheron.

BS. Same people post here after wins, you just don’t see the negativity as there is nothing to be negative about after a W unless it’s struggling to beat a cupcake which happens every year under stoops. Sometimes criticism is warranted as in yesterdays performance.
I would disagree that’s it’s practically impossible to win when your starting quarterback is out , as some are implying. We played a very poor team and had an entire week to get him ready. I thought he did pretty good under the circumstances but did not have a game plan to help him much . Our little brother went on the road against a better team with their backup quarterback and won . It can be done .

We are averaging 19 points a game against the three sec teams we’ve played. It’s more than the quarterback.
The top 25 is littered with teams that score 30+. We did that most of last year and was successful. The new OC has tried to get too fancy with Levi's instead of just letting him play football. Making a tough run gets him going and motivated the team. Instead of turning him lose like Coen did, we are trying to mold him into a prototype NFL QB. He ended up injured anyways.
The defense gave up 17 pts(offense gifted 1st score). This is 2022 and even Saban has said that if you're not scoring you're not winning. When is Stoops going to stop bsing the fans about this situation. Between Georgia and Ark they gave up 90 points. You want to be a big time player you better start scoring like one. It's that simple.
The horses are now in the barn and it's time to put up. Yesterday ARod touched the ball five times in second half. I think our defense is plenty good enough for this team to be special , but once again we can't score enough to play with those can.
Defense as awful in the second half. It wasn’t how much we gave up. It’s how they scored. That last USC touchdown, it looked like no one wanted to tackle. One guy half assed the the grab and looked like he didn’t even try!

I'm rewatching the game (for some reason) and saw that touchdown right as I read this. You're absolutely correct about the tackling. At least one guy whiffs on every play. One defender just brushed his hands over the runner and didn't even try to bring him down. Story of the night.
I know I wasn’t crazy. What was the number of that guy that half assed that last tackle on USCs last TD? I never want to attack a player, but if I were Stoops he’d be riding pine for a long damn time for that BS
I can take losing as a fan. You have a 50/50 chance ever game of that. But losing like that? Inexcusable. And I’m an equal opportunity critic. I will absolutely call our lack of effort when I witness it. Whether it be from Cal, Stoops, basketball or football. This is KENTUCKY and SEC football damn it. Play with some pride. That didn’t happen in the second half.

And we see the same thing on the basketball board after losses for those of us that shockingly support both programs. Troll posts from the other fanbases and football only UK fans. You just learn to ignore it and it's part of a message board. This board is JV level after a loss compared to rafters so again, think it has mostly been tame and fair criticism by real fans overall.

Yeah, there were a few guys who just wanted to brush hands on that play. This has been going on all season and definitely won't fly against Georgia, UT, and Miss State.
Now that I think about it, there are so many things about this team that need fixing. If they haven't been solved now, then when?
That doesn’t fly. Ever. If I were a coach and saw that that player would be off the team real quick if it didn’t improve. That’s the kind of player that will poison your entire team.

ok , Stoops spoke up about being a football school ok we are better than Joker Phillips but we at the bottom of the east. 6 games in and the worst offensive line play I have ever seen . I don't think we can beat kMissouri or Vandy . I am afraid the offensive line will get Levis hurt. If I was Levis ,I would set out the rest of year because the line cant block anyone.
