I think it is an insane thought in someone's head that we can't have a good coach and staff here. We have new facilities that are amongst the best in the country and a revamped stadium thats really nice as well.
Those are some drawing points for coaches and the recruits notice that as well. What puts the top echelon recruits on a deciding factor for a school is the coach.
Same as with our bb program we brought in a very good coach that knows how to sell the program and his philosphy and it turned our recruiting around than it was previously.

If we hire a coach that has the name and experience were going to have to shell out the money probably 8 million. That sets a statement that we are for real and looking towards the future. We also need to pay coordinators 1.5-2 million and good assistants much more than they are now.
This is all if were going after the best.
this is the resume of a staff at a lower level school

It does not take this much money to hire a good staff by no means, but its going to take this kinda money to hire a brand name coach.. Patriots coach Bill Belichick ($7.5 million), Chiefs coach Andy Reid ($7.5 million), Seahawks coach Pete Carroll ($7 million), Rams coach Jeff Fisher ($7 million), Redskins coach Mike Shanahan ($7 million), etc
These are the salaries of NFL caliber coaches. Of course your not going to take one of those guys away from their jobs that are doing very well but you can pick up a guy who is making 5 million or a guy who is looking for a change. Never know till you do it.

Bama paid Saban an amount that had the whole country talking and UK did the same with Cal. Cal went to Memphis St and made that program into a title contender and he was a proven coach. UK needs a proven coach in football with a history of success and dish the money for them and the staff as well.
Your going no where if you have a decent head coach but a staff that is out in left field somewhere.
