The Double Foul

Terrible call plus they got the ball back. Why? We had the arrow.

Didn't upset me for a couple of reasons. First it didn't change anything. Second, I didn't see a foul by an Ole Miss player.

I think they did better by making a call that basically had zero effect on the game than to have made a bad one that could have changed the outcome just to save face.

It was a moving screen by the player that Harrison ran into, which in turn made him bump the guy he was guarding.

I thought so too (IIRC that was the rule at one time i.e. jump ball), however my daughter looked up the rules and they state that after double foul the ball is put back into play at the point of interuption unless one of the two is a flagrant.

Dumb rule. It was a moving screen wich caused our guy to bump the UM player. Still a doucher call

As Zan said it was a cop out. They didn't want to piss off one coach or the other so they tried to appease them both. Horrible call. There was no way it could be a double foul because of the time lapse after the illegal pick..Those guys should never be given another college game to do. Ulis got called for 3 fouls while standing back from jump shooters with his arms up and never touched them. The whole game was an effing joke.

Better than the call I saw a week or so ago, which was a double foul as a charge AND a block, which is just blatantly impossible. If he charged, it wasn't a block. If he blocked, it wasn't a charge.

The "blarge" is actually a legit thing, or can be anyway. If an offensive player is out of control and initiated contact with a defender who is unset, it can be called both a charge and a block.

Another bad part of the double foul was the fact that the foul on Ole Miss was clearly called first. The official out on the floor clearly calls it a good second or two before the baseline official blew his whistle.

The first ref that called the foul had the call right. He called the offensive foul (I thought for another push-off by the ball handler but may have been an illegal pick). After he made the call though, a ref from the baseline came running up to "confer" with him about the call. He thought it was a foul on us. They met in the middle and called it a double foul. It was a horrible call.

The odd thing I thought about it was, that the shot clock was not reset.

It was better than them just calling the foul on UK and giving Ole Miss FTs.
