It would be fair to say in the modern era the Florida football program has been the big bad boogie man under UK footballs fans bed . For the last 30 years we witnessed 70 point beat downs during the Curry years to No Show games from Brooks teams to No Mas games from the Joker era. It's been sickening .
Really I can only think of 3 games that have been close 1.) the Doring (he was a complete ASS in commentary Saturday night)catch with 3 sec left in early 90s. 2.) the Craig Yeast 100 yd kickoff return and Tim Couch late pick game at Florida and 3.) the Abney breaks return record but wait a fictious holding call negates it ,game from Rich Brooks first year . That's it that all I can remember sorta sad but true .
It's time for all that to change !!! These players and coaches don't carry that burden it a new era. They played UF toe to toe last year and should have won. I really believe that Stoops and company will focus and find a way to win.It a new era "Why not UK"
Now to the point of my post the UK fans ,UK student body and athletics administration needs to go all out to make this the most hostile environment that has been seen in the Commonwealth at a sporting event. Under CM we changed from a late season game in cold weather that we won on a fairly regular basis to a early season game that has been disasterous for the program on many levels. We even went and played two consecutive years in Swamp in basically sacrifical lamp status to get both schedules into a manageable mode I think was quote at time. That can all be changed we the fans need to show up early and be loud and show up for cat walk and that means everybody ! If tailgatings is your thing take portable chairs and tables and set up along the route . Students you should move your parties over to the green lot and the frats and sororities should make a point to organize and be along the route make it a coming out party . The people over in athletics office need to be inventive it's time to start traditions! LSU got the Tiger Bate chant , Florida got the Chomp , UTs got rocky top, Auburns got the War Eagle and Bama's Roll Tide .Maybe UK could let the Wildcat ride the length of the field on a thoroughbred at the call to the post .How about the the UK cheerleaders who have won numerous National Championships or the myriad of dancers coming up with something that is innovative and special .
My own idea of what would get everybody pumped !! Rename the field Saturday paint Claibourne 's name over Newton and have a party !! I know I date myself but really it need to be like the Kenny Rodgers song coward of the county we need to take 30 years of fan frustration on the bad guys. Shut the doors turn it up and make it a impossible place for UF to play.
