We’ve got a Tier 1 coach on that list drooling to be here and another one interested who isn’t on that list only because he’s coaching the Bulls in the playoffs.

Enough with the prima donna act, Mitch.

Bennett, Izzo and certainly Pitino are not tier 1 coaches. What doofus ranked this?

Shaka Smart LOL. He had one single NCAA run where his team shot out of this universe from 3--until they got to the Final Four where they bricked everything again.

Has there ever been a coach who has lived off of one single run like Shaka Smart?

One more NCAA Tourney win at VCU in 2012
Zero NCAA Tourney wins at Texas

Two total NCAA Tourney wins from 2012-2023. Then got to the Sweet 16 this season and got bounced by 11 seed NC State. How this guy has remained a name is crazy.

Tony Bennett well at least he teaches defense, but I might sleep through his tenure.
Scott Drew; Bible boy sez no
Mark Few; no chance he'd consider it
Dan Hurley; throw 10M at him and make him say no
Tom Izzo; He's still alive?
Rick Pitino; EFF no. That ship sailed then burned then sunk.
Kelvin Sampson; old AF but would kill it here.
Bill Self; no way he'd consider it, and no way we should either.

Tier 2:
Rick Barnes; he took his name out of contention before we put his name on the list.
Randy Bennett; Who?
Ed Cooley; Hard nosed dude and good coach but hard to imagine him at UK.
Mick Cronin; EFF no. I'd rather have pitino
Brian Dutcher; who?
Jim Larrañaga; older than old AF
Greg McDermott; great coach. should be on the next tier short list
Sean Miller; oh man, is this who we end up with?
Eric Musselman; not happening
Nate Oats; CHOICE 1A at this point. Pay that man his money.
Matt Painter; nope.
Bruce Pearl; Choice 1B. Bruce would run through walls to bring a chip' to UK
Shaka Smart; Not the smart choice

Tier 3 (if UK has to drop this far then they're in trouble)
Dana Altman; Wouldn't consider the job.
Chris Beard; should be higher on this list. Good coach with a bit of a history
John Becker; at this point the rest aren't worth my time
Hubert Davis
Darian DeVries
Jamie Dixon
Andy Enfield
Greg Gard
Dennis Gates
Leonard Hamilton
Chris Holtmann
James Jones
Matt Langel
Tommy Lloyd
Dusty May
Fran McCaffery
Grant McCasland
Ritchie McKay
Niko Medved
TJ Otzelberger
Steve Pikiell
Mike Rhoades
Bob Richey
