Tayshaun Prince was on them so yay. The day we beat Michigan State at Ford Field to break the basketball attendance record we went to a Pistons game the night before. They played Seattle (now Oklahoma City for you younger folks) and set a franchise record for fewest points scored. It was their 13th of 19 games in a row without scoring 100 points (including a 79-78 overtime win and a 78-76 regulation win). They won the title that year. That's a halftime score now.

I believe that was also the last season before the NBA began changing the defensive rules to remove all that perimeter handchecking and interior physicality that used to be allowed.

A lot of folks don’t realize how dramatically those rule changes impacted the way the pro game is played. It’s just a whole lot easier to score now simply because defenses are no longer allowed to do what they did back then.

They can’t even be in the same circle of a player now, some offensive space crap they made up. It’s a total joke the other way now.

Did they have Rasheed Wallace at that point in the season? They were a good team, but became great when they acquired him.
