That close win against Texas A&M starting to look good .

we should have beat their brains in. there's no rationalizing it.
we won, we've moved forward. but that game should've been over at the half.

I'm not sure what this game says about the rest of the SEC. It seems that no other team can stay on a roll. A&M is alright, but UT doesn't need to lose games like this at home. Frankly, I think you could throw the next 6-7 SEC teams below us in a barrel, and there isn't a baskets difference between all of them.

This is a terrible way to look at it. If you expect UK to win every game by 30, you are going to be nothing but disappointed forever. SEC road wins are REALLY hard to come by, the 2011 Final Four team only won 2 of 8. As the OP said that win at TAM is looking pretty good right now. They beat LSU in Baton Rouge last weekend after trailing most of the game.

A&M is undefeated with their full team in the SEC.

UT is a fraud though. Look for them to drop road games at Arkansas, UGA and Vandy in the next 5. Their two cupcake home stand of AU and MSU won't buffer them as much as they'd like.

i don't expect to win every game by 30 and i'm anything but disappointed in the way the guys are playing this year.
but a&m should've never been in that game. we're exponentially better at every single thing than they are. we struggled pretty badly on offense that game or it may well have been a 30 point win.

lol NO . I mean if you really think that i don't know what to say as you are watching something different then the rest of us. Texas A &M is very good and while i know some of yall hate UT but they just are a good team and they have proved that . They have beat KSU , Butler , Arkansas and USC . Are they top 35 ?NO but they are top 45.

I noticed this good win by A&M too. And there is no doubt it is a good win to go into Knoxville and win. They are usually tough at home and the Volunteers have been winning. So it does make that win on the road in College Station look better. A&M is pretty good and thwyrthey've proven it in several big games.

But I agree that it's also true that it seems to be the nature of most of these SEC teams this year. They get up for big games but the moment they think they should win, they get beat.

I will also add this: TX A&M is a bad match-up for Tennessee. UT wants to play one on one and beat people off the dribble but that is what the Aggies defend best. Also, TX A&M wants to score inside and they will take it to the lane every time, and Tennessee just doesn't have the interior defense to stop it. That's really where losing Maymon and Stokes hurts them big time.

last year the conference beat each other up b/c everyone except UF kinda sucked but this year there are alot of good teams in the conference and we are 3rd best conference in almost every rating . LSU , Arkansas , UT , Texas A&M , UGA and UK all deserving right now of the tourney but of coarse the ACC will get like 450 teams in and the SEC will only get 5.

At Tennessee and at Missouri are their next 2. A legit contender/good team would win both. Knowing how SEC basketball works, the Aggies will lose at least one, possibly both.

Other than Florida and UK, nobody has emerged in the SEC in a decade it seems. Whenever a team seems to have it together, they slip up.

The truth is probably somewhere in between.

Winning at aTm was a very good win, but we didn't play anywhere near our best game.

It turned what should have been a tough fought, but solid win into an absolute nail biter that we easily could have lost.

You mean at Auburn and Vandy? That is who I show up next for A&M.

I meant UT and Mizzou, but didn't realize the UT game was final. Last I saw they were up, but I also watched the UK game on about an hour delay.

The point is the same against Auburn on the road and Vandy at home.

Very true.

AU on the road is dicey, never know what you are going to get with Pearl's bunch.

Vandy at home should be a win...but if the nerds are hitting they could give A&M a closer one than they think. (LSU at Vandy intrigues me today on a random note, Vandy is desperate).

On A&M overall, look at their OOC schedule. You will want to vomit and it will make you cringe. They have really no quality wins and lost to the only good or decent teams they played in Dayton, Baylor and K-State.

I mean they beat Arizona State.

Oh i agree if A&M had a good OOC scedule they would be in the tourney right now but they looked like garbage coming into the league but then again they had alot of guys who were transfers who hadnt played with the guys and what not . Now they are humming and that House is a beast of a player and their good pg ( not the white kid who starts ) is really really good and was a top 20 recruit.

Huh? Seriously? True a win is a win, but to say that was a good win? A&M should have won the game. We were lucky to win the game.

A&M is one missed FT from being tied for first in the SEC. Their RPI was 43 at mid-week. They are quickly playing themselves onto the bubble. Plus they have the #3 class (currently) coming in next year. They are tough at home, something like 17-2 last year. They are much better than most people think, including their own fans.

Nobody is saying that A&M is as good as us. But they proved they are good enough to beat us on their home court when we don't come to play, and we didn't that day. They are better than people think.

TAMU has won four straight. Not bad. One of several teams right now with two league losses.
