I agree. This year is a major success regardless of what happens against UT.

But, I think you mean a little more than that and I agree that this has been a more enjoyable season than the last few - even if we lost today. And will hopefully see a percentage of it back to form the nucleus of next years team in Oweh and the freshman.

The job he’s done this year is hard to overstate. Had zero returning players to build on, and battled an unusual amount of injuries with the roster he did assemble, and yet we won more ranked games than we had in a long time and got to the second weekend of the tournament. I’m really proud of our coach and team no matter what happens the rest of the way.
Hell yes man. Feels like the team cares as much as the fans do. Hasn’t been that way for a long time.
Most people thought the Sweet 16 was our ceiling before the year began, me included. Let's not stop there and aim for the E8 and higher!

Congrats to Coach Pope and Kentucky from an Arkansas fan. The two fan bases spent the year bashing each other for both to be in the Sweet Sixteen. Both programs got what they needed. Now please go beat the hell out of Tennessee.
Pope has absolutely surpassed expectations! He's an incredible coach and we are blessed to have him. I was wrong about him.

We got our MOJO back ! Feels good ! I was out front all year long positive for the team and especially Coach. WAYYYY too much positive
in some aspects, but seeing them get us here has been a real good feeling I never waivered in thinking they would succeed THIS YEAR.
And really, we're just getting started this year. The future is, indeed, very very bright !

I was done with Cal when he blew that game to Wisconsin in 2015, Glad to actually have a real coach on the side lines again.
I absolutely think we can win the next game and go to the Elite 8. But to come in with no team, have all the injuries we had and still have us in the sweet 16 year 1 is already an A+ job from Coach Pope. Go Cats!

He doesn’t need a lifetime contract. He is home. If he senses the he is hurting the program he’ll step down. I hope he is here for the next 20 and wins multiple ‘ships!

This felt like old tournament UK teams this week. Have fun, take care of business. Look like you've been coached. I'm happy Cal got Arky to Sweet 16, but it's quite obvious both parties needed fresh start. And damn, we got maybe the perfect coach for this program at exactly the right time. GO BIG BLUE!!!
Second the OP on his post. Pope has exceeded my expectations already for the first year. Any win from now on is a bonus.
