We lost fair and square. We blew the W but we lost fair and square.
Pope has thus far exceeded what I optimistically foresaw in season 1, particularly when, ya know, when he landed in Lex. he didn't yet even HAVE a team. He had one player. One.
He did an excellent job assembling the best possible roster he could have, given the incredibly short amount of time he had to actually build the team.
We have two of our best out and other's banged up. Freshmen who were never truly expected to be needed for minutes and production have been thrust onto the court. By and large they've shown everyone that they belong on this KENTUCKY team. The fact they're Kentuckians makes it even sweeter for all involved.
But they're freshmen, they're not physically prepared to play major minutes in SEC play, yet here we are for better or worse, it's what we have to put on the court, so I'm cheering my old ass for them, that's for damn sure.
We all pretty much understood going into this season that there is a sh!ton of talent in the SEC, and all over the country. Parity has never been quite as equal as it is in this day and age; it seems every team has at least two really good players.
We'll get there, just give Coach Pope the time needed to do just that. He wants it every bit as much as we do, and I LOVE that in our coach.
Peace, WW..
