Texas not about the Carolina way...

Interesting.....they didn't hire a former governor or current professors?????

"The University of Texas has hired an outside investigator for an independent probe into allegations of academic fraud within the men's basketball program.
School spokesman Gary Susswein said late Monday the investigation will be overseen by Gene Marsh, a former chairman of the NCAA infractions committee, who has already begun his work."

Let's see if they spend millions on lawyers and PR firms to whitewash history.

That's how the innocent act , they sincerely try to get to the bottom of the issue . The could have pulled a UNC and hired G.W. Bush with his strategeries to expose the issues .
See, this is why injecting politics into a basketball thread always fails. Is Bush the name people think of when the subject is covering up an endless string of embarrassing frauds and scandals? Or would it be another dynastic political family named Clinton?

No, Texas is not about The Carolina Way because it appears they actually want to run a truthful, unbiased investigation, not run an uncooperative sham investigation where they proclaim their innocence while the "investigative journalists" in the sports media do no independent research or ask any hard questions, and their fans are not on this forum everyday screaming up and down that this is a setup and conspiracy against them.

I just took it to mean a former governor and wasn't a shot at GW. The "with his strategeries to expose the issues" after rereading did stand out. It would be nice it the OP would delete the remark.

As a side note it would have been nice to leave the Clintons out of it.

The fail is hyper sensitive political posters , I don't give two shits about republican , democrat or politics at all . It was a comparison to Jim Martin who was a former North Carolina governor who probed UNC . Anybody could see that hiring a former governor was a farce , so I quipped that Texas should get former Texas governor George Bush who famously pronounced strategy as strategery . You couldn't make the connection but I will keep on making political references whether you get them or not , next time look for the connection and humor instead of political mud slinging .

It's actually very simple. If the top management of your university is not complicit in the fraud then they will be as pissed as everyone else is and want to get to the bottom of it and expose those at fault so they can restore the integrity of their university.

However, as in the case of UNC, when those entrusted to actually run your university are the ones that are running the scam, well then they have to lawyer up and go into full cover-up mode as they have a vested and very personal interest in hiding the truth. You can tell from the very outset what the case is just based upon the initial response of the university.

Why do I picture the scene's with the governor in Blazing Saddles when I think of how the state of North Carolina has handled the UNC*** scandal?

What'd I do?

He wasn't referring to you. He is referring to the post about Bush.

OP can refer to the "original post" in a particular discussion. That may or may not be the first post in a thread. Confusing, isn't it?

Especially for a simple-minded guy like me....sigh...
