Texas A&M Shooting vs. Alabama

I just read that A&M was only 28-48 from the FT line against Bama.

And only 4-18 from 3-PT range.

What are the chances they shoot that poorly against UK on Tuesday?
It's in Rupp, so they're either going to shoot wildly over their percentage or somebody who averages 7 ppg is going off for thirty.

Prepare for banked threes on the last second of the shot clock.

I like those numbers. Let’s hope they try to turn it into a three point shooting contest.

I see a "physical" suddenly hot three point shooting team coming in

BUT - i am also like 0-12 in my season game predictions

Therefore - i see us surprised and dropping this game like 80-71

The refs called 58 fouls in that Alabama game. That is 1.45 fouls per minute. So basically every trip down the floor for one team or another a foul was called. There were 4 guys foul out and 5 guys with 4 fouls. Does anyone in the SEC office think that is fun to watch? Neither team can get much of a rhythm because you basically take the crowd out of a game. The home team can't go on a run for all the stoppages in play.

I think it's the inconsistency of the calls that leads to this stuff. Guys play one game where refs let them absolutely mug a guy and no call then they get to the next game with a different crew and they call every little touch foul. The players can't figure out how to adjust to the style of play because it varies so greatly from one crew to another. Refs have gotten away from calling a game by the rule book and have let guys do stuff against the rules from years. Whether that is creating contact that is a foul, carrying the ball, setting illegal screens, etc it is not called by the book anymore and the product on the court has suffered for it IMO.

Roughly the same odds that Cam Matthews shot his season average for free throws the other night (52%).

Nope. I think he was like 8-10 against us.

Also roughly the same odds that Cam Matthews bricks threes at his normal rate the other night (nope, I think he was 2-3 including opening the bank).

A halfway decent shooting night would have probably resulted in them beating Bama on Saturday.
Zero chance! Lmfao forget about it! Not happening!

TAMU shot that poorly on the road against Alabama without their best player even. I mean, TWENTY free throws missed?! They still almost won. I’ve been saying all year, this Alabama team is overrated. Yeah, they have some nice pieces and have some solid dudes. However, something is off with that team. I look for them to be put out of the tournament early. Media is just in love with Alabama basketball for whatever reason.

My wife and I were at the A&M/Bama game. Alabama fouled a lot and the refs seemed to call only every other one.

Ags like to draw fouls, but Bama sure like committing them. The reffing at that game was bizarre. Refs would give fouls to wrong guys, couple of big time no travel calls, a technical — just awful game management.

And it would be nice if it were consistent.

Hope refs are better this game.

If Taylor had of played that game, they might have beaten Bama. You know they are going to shoot better than usual, probably on free throws to. I just hope Carr can play and we are ready because this is a game we have to win. We owe them anyway, it's bothersome to play SEC football powers and lose to them at home in basketball when you only play then one time during the season. I want teams to know that when they come to Lexington to play Kentucky, it needs to be like, for those who enter, abandon all hope, like it used to be. I think we will be that way soon with Pope at helm.
