Terrible loss for UK

I'm hesitant to read too much into this game. West coast, first road game, best player not 100%, good front line player gets hurt early, came out flat, and UCLA was avenging an embarrassing loss last year. This won't be a dominant team because it can't put the ball in the hole, but it can still be very good.

Well UCLA did lose to Monmouth, Wake, and Kansas. UCLA could easily end up in the NIT.

So it's terrible in the sense that it could impact seeding in March.
And, if UCLA played like they did tonight, they could give pretty much any team in the country problems. They have the talent. They just don't seem to have the drive to get up for every game like they did for UK. Never a good loss, but certainly not a loss that can't be recovered from.

I, too, think the Duke game was the most entertaining . . . this one had too many missing pieces to get worked up over. When Welsh hit his 25th stop and pop in the first half, and our first free throw coming at 1;23 mark in the first half, it had diminishing returns. Don't like to lose, but it's behind us now at least.
I think Cal needs to use Skal in the pick and pop game but he seems hell bend on making him not shoot outside of 5 feet. I would like Lee to play center and Skal play the 4 spot and start shooting. That guy has great touch.
