Do we root for the Vols? Ugh, that left a bad taste in my mouth. Do we want them coming in chippy after getting smoked by Alabama or riding high after beating the Tide? Thoughts?

My cousins said that last years win wasn’t home cookin. It was based on the fight or flight response to over 100,k drunk red neck inbreds (& and not like English Royal in breeding) tossing batteries, pineapple grenades , mustard bottles, & toddlers over a bad call.

But any thought about a Vol win short of them winning and the win qualifying us for a playoff spot etc. is treason in these parts.

We hate them
Like Fonzie hated Jerry Reed in the water boy!!!

Oh Eddie, do you think it really matters?

I hope they lose by a thousand . or 2 thousand . I hope their bus breaks down , the band doesnt make it , and their cheerleaders get the flu .. whatever is bad that can happen .. That .

You always prefer to play an opponent coming off of a big win especially against a rival. The chances are they come back a bit beaten up as well as fat, happy and overconfident. Those situations are when you see the let downs occur.

I can't count the times that I've heard people that don't understand this say "I can't believe that, they beat X and then lose to Y!"

I dont think UK can beat UT regardless so I prefer their fans enjoy weeping and nashing of teeth of losing to Bama at least.

As a general rule yes, but it sure didn’t help us last year but Tennessee was coming off a monster win over Alabama but our game planning and scheme was so horrible. We won big before the kick off ever happened so sometimes the opposite happens. It gets teams going on a roll

It’s problematic that we have to hope for Tennessee to be off their game to beat them like coming off a huge win so we can get a let down Tennessee in order to get a win should be there playing that’s where we’re at

i am just the opposite
i think you want to play a team that is beaten down and their fans have given up on the season
i think that negativity makes the players and coaches just care a little less about winning

The research I've done in the past shows that this is true for "bad" over even average teams. A bad loss often drives them further down into a funk. However "good" teams usually will bounce back from a disappointing loss and play better the next week. When I did the research I used a 70% plus win percentage to define "good". But the better the team the more accurate and vice versa.

All teams tend to relax a little after a satisfying win especially against a team they feel superior to.

I think it plays in our favor either way, Timing of our off week and the UT schedule do us a favor. I would rather have them coming off a loss since they are coming here.

We should be as ready as we can be for this one, no excuses, no if's and's or but's. It is put up or shut up time for the Cats

i think most really good teams are going to win the next week no matter what happened the week before

The only way I would ever pull for Tennessee is if they were playing U of LOL ..

When people say pace doesn’t matter… tennesse ran 28 plays in the first quarter and should be up 17-0 on Alabama (13-0 after a bad throw to an open man in the end zone).

Saban and Bama playing UT on defense and offense EXACTLY like CMS.

I HATE the Vols. But I LOVE the way they play on offense. ALWAYS attacking the defense at their weakest point according to their alignment. While also making the defense stop them one-on-one.

I hope Stoops doesn’t play scared against Bama like he usually does against the big teams. They (Bama) aren’t a team to be scared by this year.

What was heuple thinking? Why run 2 up the gut and then let the clock run and take a timeout? They had Bama defense on there heels!

It is so disheartening seeing opposing teams WR's go up and make EXTREMELY difficult receptions after the way ours have played this season.
We usually overthrow it or underthrow it by three yards on the deep shots. No way to make a play.

TN playing for the field goal ! Why?
Never understand why you don't go for the touchdown once you are in field goal range!
