Tennessee under NCAA investigation for NIL infractions across multiple sports

Cheat in every sport and for what? Can’t beat Georgia or Bama in football and can’t get past sweet sixteen in basketball. But, nothing will happen, slow day in the news.

Serious question. What exactly could cause a NIL violation?
I would assume a pay for play situation. The school and coaches aren't allowed to peddle NIL as an inducement to play at the school. You hear UK coaches say they won't discuss specific NIL arrangements with recruits. If UT coaches are doing that, then it's a violation. NIL is supposed to be something that is between the players and businesses. The school cannot bring NIL agreements to potential recruits. I would guess it has something to do with that.

a couple of things that I have read in the past
the school is not supposed to offer the player NIL money, before commitment. That is "pay for play"
the money going to the kid needs a trail actually showing NIL... not just "pay for play"

So pretty much what Kansas did to get Dickinson.
btw, I'm glad we didn't get him (just too much of a prick to cheer for)

No wonder they got Knecht. They 100% did that with him.

That's who I thought of first. I am trying to find article or HOB post, but Im pretty sure Knecht asked for like 750k from Nebraska or Creighton when he was in the portal. Would make total sense.

This is so stupid. Just shut up NCAA. You have zero credibility left. Picking what to enforce and who and when to punish. You've created a lawless wild west, and every major program is probably is some kind of violation. Ridiculous BS. Vols, just flip'em the bird. Nutless weasels.
If the NCAA won't punish UNCHEATS or KanASS, they can pound sand. What cracks me up is how the NCAA acts like they have integrity.

There is no way to stop the "cheating" in NIL. States can write their own laws and all of this causes too many issues for NCAA and actually NCAA just trying to stay alive at this point.

When SEC and Big20 decide to do their own thing is when we will see actual working rules/laws for power 5 type teams.

The clogging team will sanctioned one mennonite...

And nothing will happen. Just like last time.

The NCAA is toothless and they know it. This is just some kind of public shame thing.
