Tennessee sobers up

Tennessee is overrated and has been all year. Coaches like Saban made a mistake by not adjusting earlier or Tennessee would be sitting in 3 losses east. Won’t happen again. Also notice the officials making sure Tennessee can’t snap the ball before they’re supposed to and Hoopull has been kept in check.

Georgia and Bama win out. Bama wins SEC championship game. Both get in. Winner of OSU/Michigan gets in. Leaves 1 spot for UT/TCU/Clemson/Oregon.

That's the key...on the road...in Neyland in front of that crowd maybe Tennessee messes with Bennett

They really messed with hooker. They covered his first reads and mixed blitz in and got to him. That offense really struggles when you pressure and take it out of rythm.
I also noticed the ref made them wait to snap the ball at times.

They allowed UT to do this to us it’s we we packed it in. Kirby saw it and had those officials make them play by rules and they got bitch snatched. Simple as that.

The league office is going to be hammered by coaches in this league about allowing Tennessee to play backward bullshit football. It’s gonna be dealt with I bet money on that.

I'd love to see it.

Vols are lincoln Riley Oklahoma 2.0 except they don't play in the big12.

It depends on what they want as fans...I'd like to be 8-1, but they claim they're a football power. They'll never beat the elite teams of the year with an ass defense against teams that can score but also have D that can slow them (or in UGA's case, stuff their crap in)

And gave them a good deal of presnap penalties. We got none of that.

UT is a different animal at home. That's pretty clear.

I'm not into trumpeting when the team that pushed out #$%t in last week gets boat raced by another team,

but DAMN SON! It sure did my heart good to see Hooker just lay there on all fours looking like Cool Hand Luke... please Boss... don't hit me no more. I got my mind right!

Eff the mustard chuckers, and that Frisch's Big Boy looking coach they got!

3 teams from the SEC won’t get in.

100% this isn't going to happen. Worst Bama team since Saban's first year. This team was suppose to be his best. They aren't developing players like they did or they would be in the transfer portal as deep as they are. I believe his staff has taken a big step back. If Bryce wasn't what he is, they'd have 4-5 losses by now.

Finebaum hinted that Golding would probably be let go after the UT loss. I think he's probably correct. Their OLine hasn't been up to Bama standards for a couple years either but Wolford probably gets another year because of his recruiting.

May happen when it goes to 12 teams. Doesn't mean they have a shot to win it.

They are going to finish 11 and 1 but if they don't make the playoffs didn't really achieve anything.
UT beat Bama, so snapping that losing streak was a huge achievement, just as I am sure UK snapping losing streaks to UT and UF were huge achievements to UK fans, as I certainly remember UK fans celebrating like it was.

UT also was involved in what the SEC and national media considered the 2 biggest games of the year so far, and split those games. It had been at least 15 years since UT had played in an SECCG, the last actual meaningful game for UT. And this season, along with LSU, UT ruined Bama's chances of another playoff birth.

UT also has a chance to finish the regular season 11-1, which would be the best finish since the 90s, and then get to a NYD bowl game, or who knows? Maybe still make the playoffs. Do I think UT can win it all? No, but it would still be a thrill, not to mention it would allow extra post season practice time, and more importantly, how it will help recruiting.

So in Heupel's 2nd season of a huge rebuild I see a lot that has been achieved, and more that is still in front of the team that can be achieved.

Overrated? They weren’t even ranked in the top 25 at the beginning of the year. Geez.

Nice post but no shit Sherlock. Put a few of these years together and you all can put the orange back on and wear it proudly. Next year will you have a 24 ur old QB?

Not from where they started but where they are today. They’re not close to the number one team in the nation they don’t have the defense for it. The number 1 team in the nation doesn’t have close calls to teams like Pitt, and they don’t get beat by multiple touchdowns in important games this late in the year. They’ve been very lucky to be undefeated, other coaches are mainly responsible for that. Saban would have beat them by multiple touchdowns had he accepted an adjustment early on defense. This could easily had been Tennessee’s 3rd even 4th loss but that gimmicky offense, some luck, and a few opposing coaches having a really bad game saved their ass big time. That won’t happen again.

Tennessee would lose by double scores to Ohio State too. There’s more. They’re the weakest team ranked number one I’ve seen in a long, long time.

And with all that being accomplished, you are still playing for second place in the SEC East.

And believe me, we know that feeling. We have gone into the Georgia game twice in the past 4 years with a shot at dethroning them, and just like UT found out yesterday, we are all light years behind Kirby's coaching with Georgia's talent.

Just like our best team in 2018, UT was NEVER in that game yesterday. You are fortunate that Kirby went ultra conservative the entire second half and showed you mercy. That could have been a 45-6 embarrassment like UT so happily laid on us this year.

But Kirby has class, and stopped passing on your pitiful secondary becuse he knew with his defense and his defensive game plan, UT was never going to mount a threat.

Kirby is the new Saban and Georgia is the next Bama. And the rest of us are playing for............Second place in the East.

Congratulations UT, this is your year. It is hard to accept that with your best team in 15 years, you were never in that game yesterday.

And, we know how that feels.

No, I agree, but at the time of the first CFP ranking, UT had the best resume with the best win at the time. But it was more than just home field advantage that caused Vegas to make UGA a 9-pt favorite.

The number 1 team in the nation doesn't lose to Pitt in OT.
And that was on the road. But I guess the #1 team CAN struggle against an average Mizzou or an FCS team in Kent St. LOL.

Ok, we'll do that.

Will UK have a QB...period?

Y’all got exposed yesterday and it really should have been your third loss. Saban has bitch slapped your program to irrelevance so bad they he got arrogant and didn’t make the nickel / dime adjustment until it was too late. Had he done it sooner and just accepted this year he’d have to beat you by 2 touchdowns instead of 4, no way you beat them.

Tennessee is severely overrated and this year is fools gold anyway. Number 1 I doubt hoopall stays at Tennessee. It’s a middle of the road SEC program at best and with UT and Oklahoma coming on board he’s going to try and strike while the iron is hot. He’s never going to be able to compete with Georgia (Bama either don’t let this year fool you). For 2 teams are going to fix the rampant on field cheating (like Kirby did yesterday) and this edge he was allowed to have this season where he calls plays 15 yards on the field and snap the ball prematurely is going to be stopped dead in its tracks. Go read the Alabama rivals board about this topic.

This was a gimmicky bullshit year for UT that won’t be replicated. And you’re going to disappear when Tennessee is recycling coaching again and sitting at 4-6 like usual.

No great coach will ever stay there just to lose yearly to Kirby smart, Nick Saban, while dressed as a ****ing pumpkin while everyone in the conference hates you.

I agree. The game was never close. And yes, UT is playing for 2nd, which is what we assumed we would be playing for when the season started. But UT still has 3 SEC games left, so still plenty of work to be done.

Too bad they can't play all their big games at home. Seems like all their key games were in neyland except this one

I think everybody(all of the talking heads) were discounting that IMO. Those false starts were huge for the type of defense they play. Way harder for UT to change the play in an environment like that as well. I thought UGA did what we tried to do in the first quarter of our game with UT. They took away the deep shots and were sound in their tackling on the underneath routes.
