Embarrassing display, without AD this team would get beat. Carlik Jones is cooking world class guards. Honestly the US needs more Derrick Whites. Guys who play a role. Almost too much talent, everyone is the dude and they don’t know what to do being another option.
He tried to draw a foul instead of just making the basket. Should have gone straight up instead of leaning back to try and get the foul. Hard to fault a guy who gets a triple double though.
Entire team, except LeBron and Anthony Davis, should be arrested for inferior play.

South Sudan is coming along and they are in the infancy stages of where that basketball program has the potential to be. We can give props to South Sudan, while saying we should have played better, but this is nothing at all to be embarrassed about. That program is going places.
I doubt it. They may lose an irrelevant round Robin game like in 2020 but probably will win it all still.
There should be no excuse why the 12 best NBA players on the planet shouldn't win these games by 40, especially against Sudan. So what happened?
Kind of tells you that sheer talent doesn't always win out. Experience and cohesion matters. Just because these are the best players on the planet, doesn't mean a whole lot with a new coach, and many of them playing together for the first time these last few weeks.

World basketball was a joke back then but those guys knew How to play together. Still the best team I agree.
That’s what always gets us in trouble, we honestly should never lose. If we played up to our capabilities and defense hard every game but we coast and it costs us a lot more the past 16 years. We still win most of the time but we shouldn’t lose often at all.
It doesn’t look good anytime USA is in a close game but I like when the games are close .

Yes, no team as experienced and cohesive as the South Sudan national team. With they're legendary Princeton offense and 0 players as old as Steph Curry and Lebron.
They're a collection of all stars just like us. Any parallels you get out of one exhibition game is just what you want. But not the 105-79, 26 point beat down of Jokivic and Serbia.

You know, we DO have concrete evidence that shows that almost all the past super teams on the modern era, took a while to gel. Lebron, Kyrie and Love didn't just win out the gate...
I feel like we go through this every Olympics. US gets some tests early, and by the end of it, they don't even look like the same team.
