We still don't get it. You have 30 days. Is Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, or any of the other teams that kick our butts on a regular basis (Louisville) taking a dip? Ice cream truck is next!

I take it that we had a swimming trip, hadn't heard that but if it bothers you, it may be you that don't get it.

I don't mind it really..you have to be smart..you can't go all out everyday or you'll get burned out and your players will get burned out..now if they're having a pool party every single week that would be different, but even the best pro football teams have team-bonding stuff where they get surprised with a trip to the bowling alley or something like that..you just have to be smart about when you do it and it seems like they are

You seem confused, or unhappy. Not sure. FWIW, Nick Saban took his freshmen intertubing, so~...
They should be able to have fun. They're people too.

Swimming and diving is a physical activity. I'd also like to know your context, are you saying that's all they did today, the day before their first scrimmage? Either way with other practice or not, a swimming event helps bond and relax a tense group of guys. Swimming is hardly ice cream, that's kind of like jogging is is to potato chips.

Mark Richt does it at Georgia, James Franklin cancels practice for bowling at Penn State, Kevin Sumlin cancelled practice at A&M to go to the movies, and do on and so forth.

There is nothing wrong with this at all. These guys doing two a days, plus film and team meetings and lifting. It's a 12 hour day with lots of physically challenging work. A day off is a good thing... Let that body heal up

Does this mean they lose one of the 20 or so days of practice or do they just add one in on a previously scheduled off day.

No fun, no relaxing. THIS IS football camp, dammit. Burn 'em out. We should be having late night practices as well. Darn NCAA won't let us have four-a-days. Need to have 20 hour days during camp. This is SEC FB!!!!

Swimming?!?!? There's no swimming in football!!!!!

Exactly - I say we need to bring back the Charlie Bradshaw training regimen! [sick]

If you actually took the time to watch the pool video, you'll notice that they were exercising in the pool before "play time."

Like him or not, I'm still awed by that back flip that Richt does off the high platform.
