You have more than only one problem if you are a Jaywalk fan .

Now why do you have to be that way? I'm a respectful poster who doesn't talk any trash.

I'm a Kansas fan. There are lots of us who aren't douches.

Just tryin' to talk some basketball.

Excuse me but being a Kansas fan on a Ky board did you expect sugar cookies and milk ?

At first glance I thought "we're gonna be thin in the backcourt"....then I remembered we have a 6'9" 2 guard.

JV and Knox are taller that I expected or thought they were.....[banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana]
Yeah. This squad has tons of length at the wings. Our defense has the potential to be a nightmare for opponents.
We've had size before but this year should be a combination of length and speed. Lots of options for Cal because so many guys are interchangeable.

Which is why I wish people would stop slotting him in as our center. He's too small and too skilled to waste like that.
With a 7'3" wingspan. Very, very physically similar to Draymond Green, who is, however people want to label him, probably the best center in the NBA. If not best, most effective in a team structure.

People get obsessed with height. And yeah, you want tall guys with a physical edge over the opponent. But the more important thing is that they are good in a variety of ways. That's why Twin Towers stuff never, ever works. OK, if you have a Towns, with tremendous skills, and a WCS, with tremendous athleticism, it sort of works, but even then, you saw how the offense got bogged down at times.

If it takes playing Washington in the paint (at least defensively) for UK to get its 5 best players on the floor, I say go for it. At least see how it works. I've seen way more UK teams be really good, or at least overachieve, by going smaller than I have by going bigger.

Just off the top of my head: 85-86 thrived with Kenny Walker at center alongside 3 guards, 95-96 turned on the jets in December when Prickett redshirted, Epps/Turner took the PG reins, and they went with a 3 big rotation of Pope/Walker/McCarty. The 2000-2001 season turned (until the disappointing ending) when Tayshaun started to play a lot at the 4. 03-04 overachieved with Erik Daniels being the main center. And prior to 11-12, there was big skepticism about whether then 210 lbs (maybe) AD could handle being a 5. We saw how that turned out.

It's crazy that you can see how big our team for this upcoming season by just looking at this team photo. Richards is a big kid. When you have that kind of size/frame and still can run the floor well, it really doesn't take much in terms of stats to get you drafted in the NBA lottery. Some seem to forget that fact. Knox is going to be one of the most hard to defend players in the country under Cal. When you can make PJ look small with your team photo, you have a lot of length to put on the floor. The insane thing is, only Green is one of the smallest dudes on our roster that sees playing time. The rest of the roster are big guys when you consider it's college basketball.
