My only problem as a Jayhawk fan is that none of them Appear talll.

Because they ARE ALL TALL.

Gonna be a great game. Can't wait!

Yes, and it's just my opinion but there doesn't seem to be a Lurch among the bunch of them....

Pretty much. Its hard to look super tall at 6'11 (Richards) when you're flanked by 3 guys 6'9+ on BOTH sides. Oh, and that slightly shorter but still stupid tall player on the outside number 22? Hes a freaking point guard. Vanderbilt as a 6'9 collegiate small forward is massive and he looks average because hes only 3 inches taller than his teams backup point guard instead of being 7 inches taller like hed be on most teams. No one is 7'4 or anything crazy but literally half of our team (7 out of 14) are 6'8 or taller.

6'9 as they were supposed to be . JV is going to be a defensive nightmare and on offense with his handles and passing he will be so much fun to watch.
True, but sometimes those are exaggerated. Film don't lie though.

If they can defend and block shots like the '14-'15 team this team could be lethal.
Noooooo platooning though Cal, you promised.....:grimace:

Will one of you guys "in the know" prepare a list of the players names...starting with the front row going left to right and then the back row from left to right?

It would be appreciated

Wife problems?
No. I'm very upset over the loss of my pet monkey. He ran off with some girls I met over the week-end. They were from Loserville and live near campus. I tried to tell him that anyone from Loserville is not worth talking to but he just did not listen. I put out a MAPB (monkey all points bulletin) on him last night but as of this morning no news. I'm very depressed and miss my monkey. If you see him, please contact me on RR. His name is onehungmonkey.

Pj Washington isn't very tall 6'7 at best

I've been saying all summer, that I think Washington may be my favorite (& our best) player this year, BUT I think there is a decent chance that he returns for a 2nd year. At 6'6-6'7, he is not an NBA PF. So he will need to improve his SF skills & quickness.

Which is why I wish people would stop slotting him in as our center. He's too small and too skilled to waste like that.

I don't think he's center material persay. I think he's listed as starting as the 5th player simply due to mismatches. We'd never put him on a 7 foot Cousins type of player. Rather, against teams that want to play small and have 4 guards and a PF as the big, we can run a line up of something like Washington/Knox/Vanderbilt/Diallo/Green and smother them with length and versatility.

But no, he's not a center. Him playing the pseudo-5 spot would only happen if A) we're going small and the other team isn't big down low at that time in the game, or (more likely) B) SKJ and Richards are out with foul trouble/injury. After Richards, we don't really have a 5. Wynyard, while talented, hasn't proven to be a go to back up 5. And SKJ has shown he's tall and athletic and can shoot but nothing that proves he can be a reliable 5. And Wenyen is a string bean. Not saying none of them could be ahead of Washington as an emergency 5 man, but with his strength, long arms, and aggressiveness down low, the fact that he's an inch or 2 short for the position is the least of my concerns.

As far as the next level goes, he's a Draymond Green type of guy. Gritty/skilled/powerful multi use forward.

We can easily go 9-10 deep. Can't wait to see them in action.
That may well be the case, this team appears to be different than any other Cal team here.(just when we thought he might run out of ways to be different) We are less sure who can and who will do what in this group.A player like Baker or SGA may come out of the woodwork and be special right out of the gate.Maybe SKJ bursts onto the scene and lays claim to a starting spot, what will we get from Diallo when he finally takes the court in a Cat uniform,Knox,PJ, Vanderbilt and Gabriel are all versions of the same player.I haven't even mentioned Green or Wynyard, that makes 10 players that we know very little about, not all will be stars or get big minutes but it will take even Cal a while to sort thru who can play when the lights go on.

If Knox does end up playing the 2, that tells you there's a load of inside talent that simply can't sit.
Could he and Diallo swap off to at least always have one of them in the game at all times? I see that happening.
