It was the first victory during the BCS/Playoff era by a team that had not recruited more 4 and 5 Stars than lower ranked players over a four year time period.

And given that Dykes has hit the portal hard, it is likely confirmation of the weakness in the ratio I link: it does not account for transfers, but most of those he brought to TCU were not likely High School 4 or 5 Star type talents.

The defense capitalized on Michigan mistakes and scored tds off of them. Michigan still almost won the game despite those pick 6s

TCU's win has more to do with Dykes offense than the number of 5 stars on the roster.

Yesterday unequivocally proved one thing: you have to score 40+ points a game to win in college football now.

The rules, the landscape, it's all about offensive talent and firepower. You have to have a great OL. You need good WRs. You have to have a leader at QB. And you need depth at RB.

TCU is an outlier. They had enough losing seasons in a row that they fired the guy responsible for putting them on the map. They brought in a system coach with no major winning history. And they are going to play for the national title in 8 days or so.

It also proves unless you have elite elite talent you need a great quarterback to win big. May need a different system than the top programs do as well, but absolutely have to have a stud at qb.

Stoops has had one qb in his entire career with NFL talent. If that changes he may be able to take the next steps at Kentucky.

Without that he needs a gimmick offense.
