I've seen some physical rough teams but these guys are flat freaking DIRTY and Buzz is a total douche.

They always are and yet at Rupp I still saw some head scratching calls against us.

Phelps who is taking up the scoring for him had 21 pts so he may have made a little difference but not enough to overcome that beatdown we put on buzz and company and that creepy asst coach . Man we are a damn good team LONG LIVE THE POPE HE'S KILLING IT

I hate that some of our fans are so sensitive and constantly play the victim. Watch the other games in this league. We are dealing with the same kind of play and the same kind of whistle and the same shit talk that everyone else does.

No one is out to get us. They just want to beat us and win the game. Our kids are getting better each time out. Bring it.

I’ve been to 2 league games in person now, and the contact that gets called on Kentucky and the contact against Kentucky are vastly different. Refs aren’t out to get Kentucky, but so far this season they have not called contact the same for Kentucky on both ends, and that’s what is frustrating fans a little. A&M last night was a perfect example.

That offensive foul on Amari when he had a guy who had him wrapped up and was trying to drag him to the ground was an absolute joke. As a side note Garcia flopped and fell anytime someone got near him to get a foul called. It worked several times but not near as many as it did for UGA.

The backup big for A&M was dipping his shoulder every time, and then when our bigs would respond to not let him get to his spot he would start flailing his neck.

Gonna play devils advocate. First off buzz is the least douchey coach in the sec. No other coach will compliment the cats more than buzz. We will see physicality because that’s the blueprint. That’s what I would do if I was coaching against UK.

Something to keep in mind man, it was JR who talked shit straight to their bench and got the technical early on. So we had receipts coming. It’s just ball. This is a man’s league. I’m actually happy to see us stand up to the rough play as of late.

No complaints from me. It’s rough ball, it’s inevitable, it’s been our Achilles heel, and we won. Tip of the hat to AM.

They are but they also aren't consistent with it. It's like the first half they think they are reffing a rugby match, and the second half are reffing a game for special needs kids.

I have noticed this as well 2nd half is always called MUCH closer than the first very frustrating to watch ? I can imagine how it must be for the players

My biggest complaint about this team has been our inability to stand up to physical play. Teams have been exploiting that weakness. But guess what, we are improving in that area. Big time. Our defense and rebounding was on a different level last night. Was it rough at times? Yeah and so what? We needed to be tougher that playing rough is the only way its going to happen. So I am glad it was a physical game because it will make us better. You wanna get respect? Then stand back up and give it right back after someone knocks you on your ass. I love it.

Now if we can just get our kids to dive on the floor for balls........jeez. Gotta get that fixed.

I agree that we're gonna see a lot of this play and officiating during conference play... A tighter whistle probably benefits us in the tourney more than others...as long as we adjust well to it and I think we're kinda built to do just that. All that said, we are much improved from a physicality perspective. I wonder how much Jax's new outlook and performances of late are factors in it all to the whole team...but we're a better overall team in a lot of areas over the last two games, and it coincides with Jax's two best performances as a CAT.
