Yeah, Freeman was also on the NZ team with Wynyard. Has a good number of scholarship offers in the USA. Would love for Wynyard to win a national championship there and one here with UK.That performance was against a kid who signed with Oklahoma, so legit competition.
Granted, the Oklahoma bound player had 28 and 9, but still. Wynyard will be a welcome addition to practice and will be a solid player for us in 2016-2017.
Very young. Could easily wind up competing with Chuck Hayes and Josh Harrellson as best blue collar player of the last twenty years.I like his game. No, he doesn't jump out of the gym, but to be a great rebounder, it doesn't matter. He has the body and know how to be a great rebounding big in college. He is still so young and getting better. He hasn't even fully developed his body yet. Once he gets on campus and pros start to work on his body, you will see a huge difference with this kid. I may be alone thinking this, but i think we will have this kid for at least 3 years. We are always going to recruit OneNDone type of big men while Cal is here. Every year we recruit those guys and this kid will have to compete with these types his entire career here at Kentucky. After a few years of competing with guys like this, i think he will be ready to man the frontcourt right along with the elite big men we always recruit.
I've never found enough video. Here's some footage from his 3 on 3 competition. Not real basketball but you get an idea of his ability. Doesn't seem to have much range but he's more than a garbage basket guy. Really knows his way around the basket, can shake the backboard when dunking, passes well and seems to have good timing on blocks. How is his shooting touch and scoring. Does he mostly make putbacks or does he have much post moves yet?
