swanigan to purdue just broke

Never a chance he was coming here. Hope he sticks there LOL and we don't have to hear any more about him.

no it must be a recruiting guy. roosevlt jones is calebs guardian. spelling probably wrong

purdue will be in the ncaa tourney. one the best front line in college basketball as far as quality and depth.

Who didn't see this coming? Need the laughing smiley back

Yeah, the most recent thinking was that Purdue was out and it was down to Cal and UK with MSU still in the picture, albeit slightly.

Noone seems to know who that is who broke it with the tweet, but most said this was a done deal weeks ago. Guess we'll know something for sure anytime.

As I said weeks ago, im fine with getting no one else unless Murray reclasses.

Wonder if the Murray visit breaking played a role of if it was moot?

If Murray comes Poythress will battle more to play his natural position at the 4 & that would affect Swanigan. It may not have played a role & yet it might have.

With any kind of pg play Purdue is a top 15 team nationally. Hammons and Davis were both all-B1G 1st team defense last season, and their front line will be excellent.Very tough B1G schedule though.

I tried telling you guys the posters who started that other thread was trolling.

The red flag was his talk about hearing it from his AAU source. Swanigan hasn't done jack with anything AAU related since he Decommitted from MSU.

Evan Daniels confirmed it. Weird.

If nobody gets hurt and stays reasonably out of foul trouble it won't make much difference. Murray will be a much bigger upgrade at the 3 than Swanigan would have been at the 4.

it doesn't matter aau coaches were talking and they were talking about Kentucky. it was put out there to keep smoke off purdue for a little bit. it happens all the time. obviously you don't know much about recruiting. murray has some extra help pushing him to Kentucky and I love it. like our chances a whole whole lot

Last hope! It sounds so dire. Cal should try this on him, it worked the last time: "We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth. Jamal Murray, sign this LOI!"

(Bonus points for first history major who identifies the original.)

Just a guess. Winston Churchill

Gotta be either Churchill, or Ryan Lemond.

^^^ you can be doubtful but I am giddy. there are other factors working in UK favor in this recruitment. people around murray want him in college.

Was it when Bugs Bunny went up to stop the little green martian from blowing up earth?

By the way, I am doubtful about Murray coming to UK, without having any inside knowledge. It feels like a Newman situation to me. He wants to be a point guard. Kentucky has three of them. I just think people shouldn't set themselves up for disappointment on this one.

Difference is there doesn't seem to be any real second option here. Oregon reportedly is now full, and there has been zero buzz about any other schools. Guess he could stay in the 2016 class but he's going pro next year anyway, so that doesn't really concern me.

Oh! But I was an idiot and knew nothing about recruiting?

Swanigan committing to Purdue doesn't mean the OP's info was wrong. UK couldn't convince Swanigan's guardian...that's what it came down to. But make no mistake UK got close.

I don't see how anybody can be very positive right now, really. Since April started, it's felt like the Tubby years.

I'm half expecting current players to transfer. (I'm not serious)

If we get Murray (I know we keep saying stuff like that), but if we do, I really like our roster. Yeah, we could use another frontcourt guy, but I think we can certaintly compete for a title with that roster.

this is very shocking ... UK was without a question the leader and he was close to pulling the trigger last week.

May be true, but that's an argument I'll never understand.

With the way basketball is played today, there are all kinds of "point forwards" and "shooting forwards" running around in the NBA and college level. There are multiple ball handlers and playmakers on the court regardless of position. LeBron is the obvious example, but look at a guy like Josh Smith this playoffs. Even Harden is getting some shine as an assist playmaker and that's never been his strong suit. A guy like Darius Miller under Cal was a point forward. Lamb, a 2 guard, would often serve as a primary ball handler in a pinch. So Murray will have his opportunities to shine as an assist maker and show pro scouts what he can do even if we play him at the 3.
