Survivor Finale

Sooo anyway - is there a link to a video or an article about this or are we going to keep arguing and being bitter over social issues none of us are going to change? We're a little over a week before Christmas btw, so let's not be complete assholes to each other for a change and enjoy a positive story for once. Maybe?

I don't think that, only the loud conservatives who say racist, sexist, and homophobic things. A majority of Republicans are fine people who don't want to turn a discussion about one of the kindest gestures in this show's history into some rebuke on woke ideology.
Moral of the story? There are people with agendas on both sides of the political isle and to lump everyone together is narrowminded.

Listen I want this discussion to get back to Gabler and his amazing gesture of giving up the million dollars but you guys acting like Conservatives are the one who started and are the only ones who are part of the "cancel culture" have to be joking. Have you forgotten all the people who wanted to shut down Chick Fil A because of the owners stance on LGBTQ? How about wanting to cancel J K Rowling over comments about transgender rights could hurt women's rights? How about Chris Harrison stepping aside from hosting The Bachelor because he voiced support for a contestant who had a picture surface of her dressed up as a Southern Bell at an "Antebellum" party in college? Don't forget President Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson's names being wiped from San Francisco public school curriculum because of ties to "racism and dishonorable legacies"....Lincoln.... the freaking President who ended slavery?

Moving on to season 44, thoughts?
The clip made it look like there was some sort of medical emergency. It has been a few seasons since they have had one of those.

I had the opportunity several years ago to meet KY Joe who was on Season 2 Survivor Outback and talk to him about his experience. He said that they didn't get near as many reward/food challenges as they do now and also that their season was the first to go over 40 days. He said it took him a while for his body to recover from the physical toll that going without food and the elements took on him but he would do it again because with all of the food rewards they get now it would be a lot easier than the early seasons were.

The clip showed the guy trying to climb some rocks and falling off but water was below.

Yeah but there was another that looked like someone was receiving medical attention that was possibly during a challenge. I suppose it could have been the same issue.

Yeah I saw that. I though that was more of a heat exhaustion thing after a challenge.

I have Paramount + and sometimes go back and watch the early seasons. I do miss some of the challenges like eating weird things or where they each were given money to buy things and sometimes it was a cheeseburger and fries under that towel and others it was worms and cow brains. 🤣

Reactions: I am stupid
2010 season contestant Ralph Kiser from Lebanon, VA used to be a mechanic where my son in-law works. I say used to be because Ralph died of a heart attack this past spring at the age of 56. He was a pretty popular character, full fledged Appalachian American and quite the character. I asked Chris what he was like at work and he said that the Ralph you saw on Survivor was the Ralph you saw at work.

I didn't know he passed away, hate to hear that. Enjoyed watching him on that season especially since he helped get rid of one of the show's biggest villains.

Yep. I couldn't care less who is on the show, just stop making a scene about it, stop celebrating it and stop changing the show so that the tail can wag the dog. CBS announced they were intentionally doing all this and it was obvious. That is what was bad and they have stopped doing that.
Why should they have to change how they do their show for you? If you don't like it, don't watch it.

Lol, they produce a show people either want to watch or they die. If you think my tastes are in the minority you're terribly mistaken. Your comment was so lacking in thought it caught me off guard.

Just seems odd considering season 37 - 39 of Survivor ranked in the 30's of most watched shows. Then season 40 jumped to 24th most watched, obviously oweing to an all winners season. But then season 41 only dropped to 26th. It's as if a vast majority weren't bothered by the "woke" stuff as you call it. And the last 2 seasons have only seen an increase in viewership. And they are still doing the same things you had an issue with in season 41.

My only issue is the shorter game and pretty stupid twists they have introduced. I've heard far more people bitch about that than anything else.

Anyone watch the finally last night? Sam played the final tribal as poorly as he could have. It's not that it would have likely mattered but if I were him I would have made it known that I was considered a threat by almost everyone from the day we arrived, I lost my biggest ally early on, I didn't find any immunity idols, I had no advantages, I didn't win immunity and yet I outwitted, outlasted and outplayed everyone all with a target on my back. Yes Rachel had a different path but having safety all those times was the only thing that saved her from being with the jury.
