Surprised to see us QUIT this game….

I was proud of the effort in the first half and disappointed in the effort in the second half.

I never thought this game was winnable in the first place but wanted to keep it respectable. Didn’t happen.

It was the perfect storm of being short handed, a total athletic mismatch, a top 5 team raining 3s in the second half. I knew when it got to 15 we were gonna get our asses kicked.

Someone once said, “fatigue makes cowards of us all.” I think it’s pretty much true.
The first time I heard this was after we beat Utah in the 98 championship game. Rick Majerus said it in the post game interview before taking it back. It stuck me as profound at the time and stuck with me over the years. Every time I hear it I think of the 98 championship.

From Google: "As U.S. Army general George Patton wrote to his troops during World War II: ‘Fatigue makes cowards of us all. Men in condition do not tire.’ And he was right; endurance is relative to how well the body is prepared, and the onset of fatigue occurs when the body is pushed beyond the limits of preparation."
