Out of curiosity, I looked up TS number 1 singles and MJs. She has one less (12 to MJs 13). As a solo artist, she has sold 47 million albums in the US compared to 89 million for MJ as a solo artist in the US. Also, keep in mind, she's doing that in the streaming era.

MJ was likely the bigger international pop star but you are vastly underestimating TS.

The chiefs, who have been good since Mahomes came into the league, had viewership increase by 15 percent when she started dating Kelce.

But just to let you know my bigger point. Many will say Disney Star Wars was bigger than the original trilogy because it did more at the box office. Add in more population and inflation.... When I was kid every single person under 30 yo knew about Star Wars. Disney Star Wars might have done more at the box office but 90% of the world didn't even know it was on.

Brother, I wasn't born in Kentucky but 90 percent of my immediate family is or was from there and Ive spent a good potion of my life in the state. That wasn't a joke knocking my favorite state in the country it's a point about how your narrow view of the world doesn't necessarily align with what the rest of the world sees. By the way, we all have narrow viewpoints of the world, that wasn't a knock either.

It sucks an artist like Taylor Swift has the popularity she does because her music and experience doesn't resonate with me. Thankfully I have other artists that I do resonate with though.

Kendrick’s performance did better ratings than the game itself and it has 328 million views on the NFL YouTube making it the most viewed video ever on their YouTube. Second place is the Shakira and JLo halftime show at 321 million followed by third place of 260 million going to the Rihanna halftime shows

And that’s not even counting the Apple Music version that’s also on the NFL YouTube channel, which gives it an additional 39 million views, which is the 9th most viewed NFL YouTube video.

I have heard a lot of people watched it numerous times to see all of his messaging. I have seen people post that they did not care for it in the moment, but after watching it a couple of times, they now think it is awesome. “Find the hidden message” will help the replay watch count. I think it just speaks to popularity and what people generally think of someone who is seen as universally loved (even though that is rarely true). When someone is so pervasive in a culture, it's easy to get sick of them. I was sick of seeing Kevin Hart's unfunny ass and The Rock in every movie for what seemed like a 10 year period. I'm sick of most of the known political figures that exist in our society and I'm sure a ton of people are sick of seeing Taylor Swift on sunday's (especially considering they would likely be doing anything to avoid seeing her).

It's a testament to just how popular she is that seemingly everyone has taken a turn hating her. Hell, a lot of people were criticizing MJ in the early 2000's because of all of the weird things he did (his marriage, dangling kids over balconies, giving extremely weird interviews). Nevermind the fact that it was obvious that man was tortured as a child and never got to experience youth.

It's a tough sell.
