Apple pie, butterscotch, watermelon, whatever.

Bout to do some brewing.

After spending the last wkend sampling a bunch of various flavored at multiple places down in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, I wouldn't bother if I were you. I'm at the age and place in my life that I have no problem buying something decent to drink. Bourbon or Scotch. Spend a little and reap the benefits.
 
My suggestion: Leave a jug of it by the front driver's side of my truck... after you make whatever you decide to make.

Have only had reg'lar, Apple pie and blackberry. Apple pie went down 'smooth' and I was barely hanging on about ten minutes later. When an Eastern KY boy with dip in his mouth offers you some shine, you don't turn it down, but I'll sip a little slower next time. Did not care for blackberry.
 
I've heard if you distill it through an old car radiator it really adds a distinctive flavor.

Don't you live in SF? Old Smoky makes 18 flavors of moonshine that won't kill you. Per their website, it is available in 7 SF liquor stores and countless others all over California and, I'm guessing, the rest of the WC.
 
Are you really going to try and distill something or just flavor some pure grain? I have tried a few recipes where you basically flavor pure grain (Everclear) with various fruits/cinnamon/brown sugar. It all turned out decent.It does not see worth the effort, especially with all of the quality bourbon, tequila, and vodka out there.
Let us know what recipe you go with.

Not doing any distilling. Just mixing up a few recipes.

Made up a batch of Apple Pie last night, and something called Dreamsicle.

Going to do another batch of Apple Pie tonight, using a different recipe.

Did the Dreamsicle with Everclear. Used vodka on the Apple Pie last night.

Going to use straight moonshine with the batch of Apple Pie tonight.

Yeah, I'm not getting too serious with this. There's a buddy of mine who is hardcore. Built a still and has a pretty big operation going.

I never was a major moonshine fan anyway. More of a beer drinker. Just goofing off with this to see what it comes out like.
 
I had a customer give me some moonshine once and kept in my bar for years without hardly ever drinking it. Watched a Christmas episode of Moonshiners where Tickle makes peppermint-flavored shine with crushed candy canes, so I tried it with that shine.

That stuff was awesome, and it was even better in egg nog. My wife even loved it, and that's saying something.

Not sure if serious, but most of that stuff is only 40 proof.
 
They have 2 flavors that are 100 proof, 1 that is 106 proof, 1 that is 128 proof and 4 that are 80 proof. I don't drink any of them. But I'd drink that before I'd drink some swill made in some dude's basement or garage.
 
They must have expanded their selections since the last time I was there.

It does taste great, though.

I'm doing mine in the kitchen.

Guys who make theirs in the basement/garage are pretenders.
