I know Cal negotiated with Piggy Land in violation of his contract, and you would think Mitch had that stipulation in Stoops contract as well....

You would think.

Bottom line...he wanted to leave.....and to then to have this type of season......he has to go....................Yea, I know, we are stuck with him apparently.

The University and Barnhardt is stuck with him. As a fan I have a choice. Not to follow the team till he is gone. I can adopt another team for a few years if need be. Not sure which team but would pick one.

I actually don’t have any issues with Stoops trying to go to A&M. Almost all of us would do the same thing in our career if a much better job came recruiting us. If I was the coach at UK and a much better job came calling…I’d look at leaving too.

I’m not sure why people hold that against him. Among the things to gripe about, it’s way down (if it’s even there) the list.

No problem at all, my issue is letting him come back after the attempt. That should have been a clean break and now it's going to cost UK millions.

Agreed. That said, he has it made here. Top 10 salary for top 30 to top 50 results.

I’m going to guess Stoops either notified Barnhart in advance or his contract didn’t have the “no talking” stipulation. Regardless, he needed 7 wins minimum to erase that stunt, at least in my mind. To come up this miserably short? Not acceptable. I’m hoping some has-been or never-was power conference program gets desperate but that’s a big ask of any AD not named Mitch Barnhart.

Year-old news. Move on.

Oregon. They have pretty cool uniforms, and they can legally use donald duck as their logo/mascot. I've always been fond of Oregon, love their uniforms over the years.

No problem with a coach looking to go bot better job after a decade of work....but why UK is stuck with a fat contract when he clearly tried to leave is just insane.....how is there no legal recourse...expect Mitch is that big of a simp.

Probably. Cal could talk to other teams, he just needed to notify Barnhardt. He didn’t.

The only thing I hold against him is instead of trying to get back in the good graces of the fans, your first quote back is “I need more NIL money, our players aren’t good enough” and then you spend all summer and fall whining about NIL while winning 4 games

I imagine very few football coaches have language in their contract about talking to other schools.

You don't need a coach that the other teams fans that actually want to compete throws a fit when his name is mentioned.

Wild concept...you do you, but I couldn't imagine truly pulling for someone else.

Not really pulling, filling a void by watching a team, follow a season. No skin in it. Still stay on here and keep up with the program. Last year I watched several other bball programs and would watch highlights of good games UK had.

I know and understand why you want rid of Stoops. I don't know what UK's NIL is, but when you have 8-9 schools spending 20-25m a year if you want to be top half you better be prepared to spend with them. Won't matter who the coach is, even Saban got out, OSU was tampering with his roster, offering millions to hit the portal and he retired out of no where. Everyone wants Sumrall, with good reason, but without having the NIL funds it's going to be tough to move up the ladder.
