Stoops to Alabama?

Whomever follows will fail regardless of outcome. I think stoops would be a great, “It isn’t Nick”, hire.

He’d be serviceable and fired within a few years and then they can look for a real replacement.

No Big name will want to follow that.

In reality though, the dominoes falling from something like this could impact our key staff. Bama will hire someone that makes a splash and they will probably hire staff that make a splash. Our two coordinators might be down that list.

Whoever loses their coach or staff to bama will have to hire someone and the dominoes start falling.

We have a top 5 staff in cfb I really believe that. Hopefully we keep them intact.

It could result in Stoops being a candidate for a school, if Alabama hired the head coach from that school. I see Norvell on some lists, so Florida St. could look to Stoops if that happens. Would be my first choice if I'm the Florida St. AD, but, you never know.

Six of the ten highest paid coaches in college fb are in the sec and cms is one of them. 🙄

Yep plus staff poaching. We have two of the best coordinators out there. Bama probably doesn't hire them, but dominoes could eventually hit us there too

FSU would hire the circus freak in Boulder, CO.

I'm hearing that 'Bama has had Bear Bryant on ice waiting for this day to come. That makes about as much sense as Stoops going there..

According to others, he is gonna coach the Titans and Patriots. Maybe he will do it all. Start a Mark Stoops franchise

My brothers cell mate told him
Kirby to Bama
Norwell to Georgia
Stoops to FSU

I don't think it's Kirby, of course anything is possible, but Kirby's wife is from about 30 minutes away from Athens and her parents still live there. You know who has to be kept happy.

Dan Lanning is supposely their number 1 guy, and multiple reports are he is in that he has delayed a team meeting set for tomorrow and is in Tuscaloosa tonight finalizing a deal. Of course that is rumor at this point, Oregon fans are pointing out the strength of other candidates and citing Lanning lack of experience as a head coach. But multiple reports say it's him. This is a little surprising to me. While at UGA he was a very good recruiter, a good position coach, but the brains was and always has been Glenn Schuman. And when Muschamp came in as an analysis our defense got better. But he is looking to be a better head coach than assistant and will do well at Bama, the question is would he do well enough to please Bama fans.

U think A&M lost their minds? Bama fans would burn down the stadium and have hired assassins to pick off stoops before arriving.
Bama has pretty much the pick of the litter besides a few. (I don't think Kirbys leaving UGA).
They'd be a unobjective idiot to hire stoops with all his blunders.

Listen to a morning news show here in Louisville every morning. Really like these guys , but 2 of them are big u6 & wku fans. They thought this morning that Brohm would be a serious candidate at Bama, but would turn the job down! Really!?

Only UT or U of L fans are delusional enough to think they wouldn't lose their coach to Bama. 😂😂😂

Info is pretty tight right now, but I haven't seen his name mentioned anywhere other than right now. With everything being speculation right now I guess that is as good of info as any. Our site is saying Lanning is 1, no surprise there, but number 2 is Norville, that is a surprise to me. Of course Oregon fans are trying to push the Washington coach their way, no slouch there.

I think Dabo and his stance on the portal pushed him way down the list. I think Kirby is where he wants to be, hope it isn't wishful thinking on my part.

But if they get their first guy expectations are that an announcement will be this week.

I don't think Stoops will even be in the running. Though he may consider a job that opens up as a result of the Bama job being filled. We may see some guys shuffle around.

There's three serious candidates.

1. Kiffin. OC under Saban. He turned around Ole Miss and has them ready to compete for the playoffs. Ole Miss is not as good of a program as Texas. Which leads me to #2.

2. Sarkisian. OC Under Saban. He's killing it at Texas. They are fresh off a playoff berth. They are stacked for the future. Arch Manning is set to lead them. My only pause on him...does he want to leave Texas? Sure Bama is the Mecca. But Texas is a top 3-5 job. He has all the resources he needs. He's already built it. It's currently his. If he goes to Bama, the pressure of following Saban will be a lot.

Not to talk out of both sides of my mouth. I think Kiffin moving from Ole Miss to Bama is a bigger step up, and he would have significantly more resources. Texas is less of a step up.

3. Dabo. If you need a head coach, a guy with TWO National Championships is pretty good. I think Dabo has kind of hurt himself in the media the last few years. Poopooing on NIL instead of embracing it doesn't help. Clemson has been a bit down since NIL. Is he going to embrace it? Can he succeed at this level with NIL. I have enough pause, that he's my 3rd choice of the list.

I think in the end it will be Kiffin.
