Stoops saying no offensive coaching staff changes?!?!?!

Losing Geiger, Jones, Tisdale, and Square to injury took that "special " defense off the field.

Not even Bama could lose 4 of 11 starters and be as good as they were with them on the field.

And we ain't Bama.
But we were still “special “ enough to get Vandy off the field. They held up pretty well at Mizzu. They didn’t come to play today. No excuses allowed.

When it's an obvious passing down I can't recall an OL that's given up more sacks. I mean it's the craziest thing I've seen in UK sports. So many times we let the defender come free and nail Levis and the few times we actually get in front of someone they get pushed back into him. Burton is one one of the worst I've seen in picking up the blitz. So many times he will double the guy that Cox is on and a defender shoots the gap scot free where he is supposed to be and nails Levis. It's happened all year. I just don't understand what we're doing.
That is scheme and coaching. This offense is not easy to block for. Also, with no threat of Will running, teams can just pin their ears back and bring heat on obvious passing downs. We have yet to be able to pick up a stunt, twist or wide rush defensive end. Add to this the fact that Will also struggles with pre-snap reads and checking down fast enough and you make the O Line problems appear even worse!!

The OC and O Line coaches need to be FIRED!!!

We don't need an NFL OC or an NFL offense.

It is past time for Stoops to get our offense in the 21st century and find someone who can coach a spread offense.
We could make history if he does go to a spread. You ever seen a slow pace, ball control spread offense?

Their replacements - Lovett, Wallace, Jackson have played extremly well IMO there's not much of a let up there, but you do lose your leader and signal caller in Square which may have been a factor in a couple of big plays they allowed this week and last week.

But honestly, time and again I have seen it on other teams when a defense keeps stopping the opponent and giving the ball over to the offense and the offense continually pisses away the possessions, at some point their hearts just go out of it and I think that could have happened to our defense today.

Lol. I haven't. I also wanted to add, that he not only needs to hire a spread OC but also keep his fat a$$ out of the Offenses room completely and let the OC run that side of it.

If not, you are correct sir. We would see a clock killing spread. Ugh!

I’ll have to see the game tape but watching it live it appeared that Wallace followed up his “breakout “ game at Mizzu with one that wasn’t anything to write home about .

if Skank is back next year it could be historically bad. No QB, no RB, Barion Brown probably will be at UT or Bama and most of the same OL back. Plus we add Bama to the schedule next year so I'm just hoping for a 6-6 Weedeater Bowl.

Keep seeing people talking about Brown bailing but if you notice he's very lazy running his routes, just not real crisp especially if he's not the primary receiver. Levis did, however, miss an open Brown for a potential 4th Quarter TD. Brown is a gifted kick returner, needs work as a WR.

Yenser accepted a job as a high school assistant coach four year's ago. He was online coach at Kansas during a period when they were 3-33. Good ole buddy hire.

He didn’t say there would be no changes, he said there would be no immediate right now changes and he wasn’t going to make an emotional decision …. But I guess people hear what they want to hear

No we aren't Bama , you said coming into the season

Agree. We will have to play UT at home, Ga on the road, Bama at home. You are 0-3 before you even start the season.
I see 8-4 next yr. Will beat one of Bama or UT at home. Own Florida now. Win the 3 gimmes plus UL, SC, Vandy. Miss. St. on the road will be the difference between 8-4 or 9-3.

He, probably like everybody else, is quitting on this trigonometry scheme we’re trying to do. It’s just not working. I just can’t imagine he’s excited about coming back to this crap next year, especially if he can be featured in a better scheme and make more money elsewhere.

I noticed him and other WR's LOAFING on routes away from the primary target. I believe it MOST DEFINITELY has to do with the scheme AND Will's inability to go through his progressions fast enough to hit a 3rd level target.

He has said he isn't going anywhere, but the way Scang was BLAMING several missed opportunities on receivers turning the wrong way and missing assignments, Stoops better make our young receiving core happy and DITCH this HORRIBLE offense and it's coordinator!!

He clarified that statement that he wouldn't change anything until he looks at everything
Thing is....as a head coach making the $$ he makes....he should be "looking at everything " everyday. If he needs to wait until after the season to find problems , he isn't qualified for the job 🙄

I don't see any benefit in waiting. What we are doing isn't working. And the people running the system aren't changing it. So why wait? Get rid of them. Send a message.

If anything, waiting will only prove detrimental to next season. We're going to need to pull a capable QB out of the portal for next season. The sooner we get started on Skanky Jello's replacement, the quicker we can zero in on finding our new QB.

Well then, he can pack his bags and GTFO too!
That is NOT what he said!! He said he wasn't gonna make any changes during the season. He said he needed to cool off and really process what the problems are before he makes any decisions on the staff, but this is also a coach that has allowed the same holder and kicker to continue to go out on the field and get kicks blocked or shanked. This team is a dumpster fire and Scangerello wont be back next year. No way that happens.

We don't need to be hiring NFL guys. NFL guys won't stick in college. They always want to go back to the NFL as soon as possible. Find someone who runs a really nice college offense and hire them instead.
YES!!!!! First sensible thing I've read on here tonight. Good for you

He just clarified on the post game that there will be no changes MIDSEASON. Big difference.
Thank you! He isn't going to fire dudes now....but I can't see a scenario where Scang and Yenser are back in Lexington next year.

On his radio post game show Stoops clarified about posdible changes stating there would be no coaching changes during the season. He said he would look at everything after the season was over including first evaluating himself. Changing assistant coaches now would not help and set a bad precedent for future good assistants to want to come to UK.
It would also say we don’t accept mediocrity and we pay you $1,000,000 per year to put points on the board.

They're not going to find a replacement at OC at this point so I see nothing to be gained by making staff changes now. I mean let's face it, this season is a disaster and we can't do anything at this point to salvage anything except maybe beating UofL since Cunningham is pretty banged up. But firing the OC and O-line coach isn't really could to add to our chances at this point.

Firing someone just to try to take some of the heat off of you and appease the angry fans wouldn't be smart from a leadership standpoint IMO

Won't score vs GA regardless who the OC is. Just leaves U6 who now will come in to CWS thinking they can win, motivated much like Vandy to do so. That game will determine how much pride the UK team has, something that's been lacking with this program in recent weeks. UK from first of the year wins easily, UK of recent weeks loses.

What? You think we’ll have a better record next year with a harder schedule and less talent.

Only fact I see today is the scoreboard with us losing to VANDY
Mostly likely that is the only thing you looked at. Probably didn't watch a single game all year and know absolutely nothing about football or UK's football program. You username says it all. Bball only fan. So go back to the bball board.

How wrong you are. Go back and read some game threads. But good job assuming and deflecting for that horrible performance this past Saturday.

If we dont fire the LOC and/or the OL coach it tells me Stoops is more committed to friends than he is wins ... we shall see .. but heads should definitely roll.

FWIW I'm good with 8-9 wins a year , but when we do get beat , we get beat because the other team is better . Talent wise we are always gonna be on par with ole miss , MSU , Florida So Car and to some extent UT etc etc .. We are not Bama nor Ga,. But good Lordy , have the right number of players on the field -- that took years , run some semblance of an offense , be able to kick 35 yard FG routinely ... you know regular SEC level stuff. Dont give up 6 sacks a game , dont lose to underdogs too often .

The great skedaddle of recruits decommitting from this abortion of an offense will snowball for sure...
Kudos to Nick Roush and Jon Hale challenging Him on his offensive philosophy at his presser today and if he would consider changing it. Said he had a lot of soul searching to do, but in the next breath said if mistakes weren't made the other teams wouldn't get those possessions...code: folks will be used as scapegoats, but I'm not changing.
