Stokes most likely reclassifying

I would put Stokes right there with Peterson and Dybantsa. He is elite elite. If he goes to UL their backups in the backcourt will be a top 10 backcourt.

Louisville does have a brand name. I know we hate them instinctively but they are a top 10 bball program. I don't think the young kids now probably even remember much about the scandal under Pitino that is 10 years old now. Besides, they have an entirely new administration since then.

Houston was in the shitter before Sampson came long. It really depends on the coach and of course money, nowadays. I read that Kelsey is a great salesman, it must be true I guess. I saw him on an interview on one of those talk shows and he said loves talking about money. He's not like the other coaches that hate discussing NIL deals, etc. He said talking money is fun for him.

Yeah i mean I know its not some no-name school.. but its still just another city in KY (not the capital), program has limited history of success. Not a rich area with lots of money or business (for NIL), and a pretty unproven coach (even if i think he's gonna be solid).

Im not one of the types who hates UofL, i dont really have any ill-will towards them. I generally hate the programs that are truly pur competition, which is Duke, Kansas, UNC, etc. So, not trying to dog UofL, but im not even sure what their draw is really, or if they're really a top10 program currently. But I do agree they are near that range.

The other thing worth mentioning with Houston is, that's a top5 metropolis in the nation. It's a state with a lot of athletic talent to pick from, a lot of business. They don't mind spending whatever money it takes (nearly 100m in their basketball facilities and infrastructure), and it's a coach who we KNOW is legit. So i can't really say that UofL is on that level. Louisville might be a lite version of Houston in my eyes.

I dont get the appeal of UofL right now. I don't care how good Kelsey MIGHT be, hes still pretty unproven. And UofL was a literal dumpster fire for the last few years.. so why are transfers and recruits all the sudden lining up to play there? NIL money? For the same things I sometimes ding UK and KY for.. that all applies of UofL as well. We atleast have a more proven coach, a historic program, bigger fanbase. Very odd.
Strippers that can shoot to the ceiling!

If the kids are too young to remember the scandals, then how can they remember any of their success (since it all pre-dates the scandals)? And if they can't remember any successful Louisville teams, then in what sense is Louisville a "brand"?

Louisville boards are saying they won't get Stokes because of - of all things - gang issues and Stokes' relatives.

Jazz owner can pay a lot

If byu can get back to back #1

Jazz owner will definitely pay another 5M

He can pay a nba team 100+M per year, so he does not lack money to feed byu
I don't think an NBA owner can do that.

I doubt that lol if that’s the case I don’t think stokes would even consider them. But it’s not that they don’t know about the scandals… it’s just nobody cares anymore and they getting paid.

" However, Smith is not allowed to contribute to BYU’s recruiting efforts, because he owns an NBA team6. He’s publicly stated that his financial contributions to BYU hoops is limited to buying tickets, and his part in getting Dybantsa to BYU was apparently limited to talking to him."

I dont know

But seems byu have a ton of money regardless

And Stokes to BYU rumor is not just appearing now...

Stokes from what I have read isn’t going to reclassify he is just going to focus on USA Basketball and may do some other events. As of right now the only visit Stokes has been on is to Louisville.

Kelsey and his staff seem to be able to really connect with the kids maybe it’s his high energy I don’t but what ever it is it seems to be working.
