Stephen A Smith calls out Cal.....

I think Cal told them once they were up big to start driving the ball more. They took 14 3’s the first half and shot 50%. They took 10 the second half and shot 20%. AK also shot twice as many free throws. I think he wanted to slow it down with a big lead.

He notoriously slows it down with a big lead and rather than letting his offense run since they were clicking, he did what killed him many games here

Also…..I was once traveling out of Cleveland the day after a Cavs game early in the morning. Who is the first person I see after clearing security? Stephen A Smith. He was in a little convenience shop. I stopped and said hi and he was kind of cold and rude. I’m sure he wasn’t thrilled being up at like 4 am.

They didn’t slow it down as much as he usually did, but instead of taking shots that were there, they did pass the ball into the wings more like he likes to do to milk the clock a little. I guarantee in the huddle he said we are up 13 with 4 minutes left. Run the clock and we got this. They should have but still been aggressive trying to score.

Stall ball is playing not to lose rather than playing to win. It doesn't exactly inspire confidence in your players either.

The media has been pretty easy on Cal saying he did well during the tourney despite the 10 seed. BBN is probably the only people on the planet right now that remembers Arkansas was ranked top 20 to start the season. BBN is probably the only people that are noticing that Cal had more talent on that team than probably 10 of the other sweet 16 teams.

This board cracks me up. 99% of the time SAS comments here are complaining about how dumb he is, but as soon as he says something everyone agrees with he's amazing.
I agree, and I’m not a fan of his admittedly, however I think he was right on this one. Everyone knows Cal can’t handle tight games at the end.

You do feel bad for the kid. He'll be my age one day and wake up in a cold sweat thinking about that shot.
I did feel really bad for DJ because he’s been lights out the past two months. He played well overall on the game and hit the tough up and under to tie the game with 32 seconds left.
