If you’re in the path of this lovely winter storm I hope you stay safe and warm
We’ve already got 4-5 inches of snow out here in Oldham with another heavy band getting ready to come through, after which it will switch to sleet/freezing rain until tonight
I believe after midnight it go back to snow which should be good for another 2-3 inches
71, 265, 264 and 64 are already shut down locally. My work hasn’t called a closure yet, but my sons and my daughter in laws have. Most area schools are closed too, along with churches and other facilities
Unless you absolutely have to get out in this, please don’t go. If you do have to be out, please be oh so careful.

Yeah, I live in Norton Commons. I made it out for 8:30 Mass and by the time I got out of church my car was covered. So I know by 9:30 it was already getting pretty squirrelly out there.

Looking at 7-14" here, but it seems on the lighter side for a named storm. I think they over-hyped this one a bit, but when have the weather stations not done that, lol.

lol no kidding
We’re just waiting for someone to slide into our yard. We live on a curve and people aren’t exactly smart

Local grocery stores in Central Kentucky have been packed for the last few days. Most folks have heeded the warning and prepared for this. I‘ve already shoveled snow so it won’t be so difficult to remove the next wave of weather coming in later today.

Here in western Ky ( I am about 25 miles north of Madisonville) we are getting a mixage of rain and sleet. They say it is going to change over to all rain by 4pm. If you don't have to get out just stay in .

7 inches or so here in Frankfort. Been a battle between snow and freezing rain the past hour. Might help keep ice totals on the lower end (instead of 0.6-.7, more so .5)

Nothing but sleet and freezing rain north of Bowling Green about 10 miles. Expected to lose power any moment considering it's a heavy freezing rain. Dog is taking it really hard since he's not been able to run the yard and work his fences.

Live in Norton Commons as well. Kids are loving this. Just wish there was a good sledding spot.

Yeah, when mine was small we drove over to Seneca Park a couple times. There’s nothing really in the neighborhood here but my wife thinks there is a little park back in the Oldham County section of Glen Oaks that has a hill.

Out here in Colorado we regularly get a chuckle when 4-6" of snow and some ice causes apocalyptic chaos in my home state of KY.

I have family on social media today sharing photos of them dancing in snow dust and clamoring for family / friends to run out and stock up on necessities. :)

Not meaning to offend and I understand the infrastructure there isn't prepared for even the slightest winter storm, nor are people experienced with that kind of weather.

Well at my house it looks like we got about 9inches of snow total but we’ve had freezing rain and sleet coming down since about 3:30-4. So it’s getting packed down a bit. Concerned about power going out, but good so far
Finally got the text that work is closed tomorrow
Have a feeling it will be Tuesday too

Well, skiing to work would certainly be a different type of morning for me.

That’s really our biggest issue here. The state doesn’t keep us prepared. That and snow events like these are so sporadic.
I’m personally not scared to drive on snow and ice because, frankly, I don’t act like an idiot behind the wheel. However, we do have a disproportionate number of damn fools so it’s safer to stay home

In Danville, 8pm, 7 inches of snow is melting under monderate rain/sleet. Some branches are getting ice coated, but it's 32 degrees and may go up to 33 before morning. Not big branch breaking yet, which is the fear, as heavy ice coating can bring down power lines.

Stay safe everybody.

Come on Dude, are you sure you’re not puffing on the old Cheech and Chong and thinking that you’re driving in it, but instead you’re using Door Dash? 😂 just messing with you, my old lady is from Michigan and talks about how people can’t handle a little snow.

We have eight inches on the ground in Prospect with freezing rain coming tonight . Prospect city works doing a great job clearing main roads in subdivisions. We are toasty warm and staying off roads . We will b fine unless the power goes off.

I’m in Norton Commons on my couch under two big blankets. And that’s where I’m gonna stay.
