The one thing he does is one of best commodities to have in basketball now though

I also watched several St. Mary's games this season and Mahaney was one of my favorite players I saw all year. He is athletic with a strong handle and excellent vision and court awareness. He passes ahead very effectively like Reed Sheppard does and throws bullets on the fast break and to back door cutters that really ignite the crowd. He also has very deep shooting range that must be honored by the defense, opening up a lot of space.

He would be way more than a "back up" at UK. The home fans will love his flair.
