They might makes us regret we didn’t give him a second termSt Johns' defense is so fun to watch. I hope Rick retires soon so Pope can get him around our program and get some pointers. It's been weird watching St Johns games this season and rooting for Pitino to win lol.
Only with fans who still could not deal with their emotions 20 years after Pitino left. It’s very funny to me that if you went back in time a decade this would be said if Pitino lost.
I think their coach also still has a strong fire burning that’s fueling his drive to win while ours just didn’t care anymore.Their coach in this scenario can actually scheme stuff up
Surely this was just a poor attempt at humor.Pitino is in a perfect spot for him, a place he likes and a place where the pressure is MUCH MUCH less than say UofL or Kentucky.
I know a lot of people would like to have him back here, but I think he's too old and wouldn't handle the pressure well. Guys like him take smaller D1s or less prominent D1s and enjoy their last few years of coaching without all the insane pressure.
Big East is a good conference for him (not really good, but not ACC bad either). SEC would eat him alive right now. I mean, look at Barnes, Cal, Beard, etc. All seasoned coaches getting tested every night.
He's 72. Say he decided to go another 3 years. He'd be 75. And no telling about his health. I'm not against it, but, man, he's getting on in years.General Manager at UK, when he retires from coaching?
Surely this was just a poor attempt at humor.
Goes from griping about his players to this. You never know quite which Pitino you will get sometimes.
