Look at their roster. Full of 2 stars.
UK had no business losing that game
Mississippi 2 stars > Ohio 3 stars
But you would have thought that adding Shannon Dawson would have been a two-touchdown handicap since he wasn't good enough for UK.Be calm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
USM has 10 players currently in the NFL. They have two players in the NFL HOF - Favre and Ray Guy. They seem to do well with those 2 star player. Folks need to get over the star system and being in a conference made football great by other schools. Putting down and disrespecting a school like Southern Miss shows not only one's ignorance of the college football landscape but puts KY in a position of overlooking schools that will beat them in their own home. KY probably looks down at WKU football program as well. But they were in the top 25 last year and where was Kentucky? If any school doesn't need to disrespect others in football it's Kentucky.Look at their roster. Full of 2 stars.

Get real. When USM plays UT, UGA and UF every year while rotating Barn, Bama and LSU every 2, and still comes out smelling like anything less than a Mississippi Delta whore, you can come back and break your neck kissing your own ass. Until then, don't let this one win fool you into believing you live anywhere other but in a crap conference, and regardless of that fact, you have sucked for the majority of your existence there. Don't get cocky now that you've finally had your first winning season in a decade or better. You won a game against a team that hasn't had a winning season in 6 years. Bravo. Have a cookie.
That's a bad post. USM kicked our ass bottom line. Give them the credit they deserve
didn't we almost have the same outcome with ULL last year?We need to make sure to buy them out of the opener next year. I don't care if it's a chickens__t move or not. No need starting next season off 0-1, especially since it's going to be a make or break year for the regime, and a year in which we are going to make our move, if it's ever going to happen.
Yes, and what is sad about it, is that ULL was terrible. They were supposed to be a good Sun Belt team at the time we played, so I wasn't too upset about our near-disaster. Turns out the other Sun Belt teams were capable of doing what we couldn't do- soundly beat ULL.didn't we almost have the same outcome with ULL last year?
It doesn't matter. When you are ahead by 25 points at half time...you should win. Period. I would have felt much better losing this game if it had been a back and forth affair. But like so many other times. We came out dead in the second half...made some stupid mistakes...never made adequate adjustments, and simply looked like we were totally dumbfounded. Yes, the dropped interception was a terrible let-down. But if that caused the whole team to quit, then we will not win another game. IMO we will never succeed with the 3-4 defense, because we are not able to recruit enough talent to be successful with it. You just HAVE to have some big time athletes as DEs and LBs to make it work. We don't have those horses right now, and we are not likely to get them as long as we look so helpless out there.

Grow up seriously. You've lost how many consecutive to SEC teams before Saturday. Please don't insult our intelligence by suggesting you are a legit team. As bad as our 4 star players were against your awesome 2 stars we were up by more than 3 TD going into the half. That is before the Stoops choke job took over.USM has 10 players currently in the NFL. Completely disagree with that. There is a reason those freshmen are taking over for the seniors. Who would you rather have in the game last year Westry or Fred Tiller? The reason I'm using last year is because that's when the freshmen started hitting the line up. Truth is there aren't that many freshmen contributing heavy minutes this year. But back to your point talent will beat seniority 100% of the time. Even if the two are close in talent the more talented player will win out. Not just at UK even at Alabama.Senior 2* > Freshman/ Sophomore 4*
Any day, any team
OP is why this game should not have been on the schedule. At least not for Game 1.
Your ignorance is so evident as you know little about Southern Miss. First winning record in a decade?...we had 17 straight seasons of winning records, lost a coach and hired a SEC coach by the name of Ellis Johnson who lost 12 straight games with a team that had won 12 games the previous season. Lost players and recruits due to that hire. Fired him (cost us 2 million which is costly on our budget) and hired Monken who in his 3d year had us back to 9 wins last year. So to help you count the numbers we've had18 winning seasons in the last 21 years. KY has the advantages of MONEY while Southern Miss works on a 30 million dollar budget which is less than just your SEC payout. There is a reason that we have earned respect for putting a winning program on the field, being ranked at times nationally in the polls and known for recruiting kids that have strong work ethics. You can gloss over your woes all you want and belittle the competition, but show respect for those that come into your house, beat you straight up, and do it with recruits that you demean. By the way we're used to hearing the SEC mantra.....seems it is somewhat in question after this past weekend. Louisiana Tech (CUSA) gave Arkansas all they wanted. Tennessee didn't look all that great. Mississippi State beat by a team in it's third year of football. Yes Alabama looks like a champion....but you can't live on other's reputation on the field of play. Take the road that OM and State did back in the 80's after we were beating them regularly...don't play us. Isn't that what folks do when they can't handle the competition. If this weekend proved anything it is that you can't buy happiness nor a winning program.Get real. I think you have some very salient points in there. Your team executed effectively in the second half and beat our butts. However, the only argument I will rail against is that you DO NOT play in the SEC every single week. One reason: injuries. Your depth would be exposed and you would not enjoy the same sustained success as you have in CUSA.Your ignorance is so evident as you know little about Southern Miss.
