Agree with OP. Bit of a cocky attitude which was evident with his little back and forth dribble at nearly half court as if he was going to "take" Briscoe to town. There was something about his demeanor that turned me off as a fan, and made me thankful that he didn't choose UK.

I agree that the Simmons hype is a little out of control. He is the best player in college basketball currently but he isn't half the player and prospect that Lebron was at the same age. And any team that drafts him expecting the next Lebron will be disappointed. I would love to have him at UK because he is a fantastic player. But the NBA is full of players with the same measurables and skill set. He will likely be an all-star in the NBA but I don't see him being the best player in the world at any point. But I could be wrong, I am all the time. I should add that I don't have a problem with the way he acts. Seems like the typical elite athlete.

He is listed as 6'10" and 225 not 260. The guy for Milwaukee Giannis Antekounmpo compares to him in both size and skill. Antekounmpo is actually heavier at 222 lbs . Antekounmpo is also more athletic than Simmons, there is a reason he is known as the Greek Freak, and he isn't setting the NBA on fire. I agree that Simmons is a fantastic prospect and should be the number 1 pick. The NBA has lots of guys as big as him, as athletic as him, and at this point stronger than him. I just don't think he will take the NBA by storm like Lebron or Magic did. And I bring those two up because ESPN keeps comparing him to those two.

Simmons had a Duke tendency when it comes to falls and charges. But he is the #1 player from a talent level.

My point is there's only a handful that have more than one or two of those elite skills or physical attributes, and Simmons will be one of those guys.

And by the way, there's no chance the dude playing last night was 225 lbs. After searching again I saw him listed at 240, which is probably closer to his current weight.

Go ahead and leave yourself a little note somewhere that you'll find in 6-7 years that will remind you that you once compared Giannis Antekounmpo to Ben Simmons. Should be a riot.

My previous rantings aside, I like the Greek Freak a lot actually, but I just think Simmons will end up being quite a bit better. I don't think he's gonna be one of the 10-15 greatest of all time like Magic or Lebron, but I do think he'll be closer to the skill level of those two than he will the skill level of Antekounmpo.

Let's see he is 18 yrs old. He is considered the best player in the country. He is being compared to Lebron and Magic when they were his age. He is ESPN's current flavor of the day. Not puzzling at all. they had a couple guys miss some games but really UK stunk up the gym last night and LSU only pulled away at the end. The Cats could have won that game with a few more timely makes. If Quarterman has one of his stinko games we might have won anyway.

I've always looked at him as a rich man's Lamar Odom. I don't think he'll be Lebron or Magic good. Probably not AD/Durant good. But at least a consistent All Star if healthy.

When you are a College freshman and every time you look at ESPN you see yourself being touted as the next Lebron and by the way he has Lebrons number in his cell phone...add to that next season you will be a very wealthy person provided you don't get injured and you have a formula for making it hard to be humble. I thought the little love taps he and Skal exchanged were about as hard as two 5 year old girls hitting one another didn't see anything to cause permanent injury and I can't see anything to get fired up against Ben Simmons I am sure Poythress and Lee will be excited to see him when he visits Lexington.
