We've already seen how NIL is going to change the landscape of college sports and it certainly seems to have been a positive for UK football and basketball in the first year.

More news on that front this morning.

CATS FOR KENTUCKY FOUNDED TO SUPPORT WORTHY CAUSES ACROSS THE COMMONWEALTH

University of Kentucky athletes to help promote fundraising with their name, image, and likeness.

(Lexington, KY, March 10, 2022) –

A group of passionate UK alumni have founded a non-profit organization to raise money for worthy organizations across the Commonwealth. In cooperation with University of Kentucky student athletes helping to promote fundraising with their name, image, and likeness, CATS for Kentucky will donate to worthy causes to better our community and help those in need.

The group will support student-athletes by pooling contributions and creating NIL deals that provide compensation for those helping to raise awareness. Inspired by recent name, image, and likeness legislation, this initiative will generate opportunities for student-athletes to help communities across the state in return for NIL compensation. Several organizations in need have already committed to participating, including:

• Cardinal Hill Easter Seals
• CASA of Lexington
• Central Kentucky Riding for Hope
• Foundation for the Tri-State
• Gods Pantry Food Bank
• Make-A-Wish
• Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass

“We are a pro-bono group of dedicated and passionate Kentuckians committed to supporting charities across the state and University of Kentucky student-athletes,” said executive director Todd Harris. “Our team of Wildcat fans and civic leaders want to give back, help our community, and support our student athletes.”

The University of Kentucky and its alumni have long been for academic and athletic excellence, as well as proud members of the community. CATS for Kentucky will continue that tradition and while leading an effort to support athletes.

The student-athletes will be compensated for using their NIL to help fundraising and bring awareness to worthy causes that impact their local communities. To contribute to this worthwhile effort, visit www.CatsforKentucky.org.

About CATS for Kentucky

Charities Across The State For Kentucky was founded as a non-profit organization that has applied for 501(c)(3) status, to support other Kentucky organizations across the state while partnering with University of Kentucky student-athletes willing to offer their Name, Image, and Likeness to promote the effort.

The Charitable NIL will provide Kentucky fans everywhere a unique opportunity to donate to an organization that will support worthy causes across the Commonwealth. As a group of passionate, dedicated, and loyal Kentucky fans and supporters we believe CATS for KY will inspire BBN to raise money for important causes that need funding. We also will be collaborating with UK student-athletes as ambassadors for our charity to promote our organization and fundraising efforts. Our partnership with the UK student-athletes will allow BBN to provide various NIL opportunities to UK student-athletes while giving back to various charities, organizations, and the people of Kentucky.
