so many posters complain about Matt Jones and KSR yet immediately post information on this board as soon as it comes out on KSR. I personally think the KSR website and radio show is fantastic but if I didn’t like it or Matt Jones I don’t think I would be refreshing their page every 5 minutes so you can post the information on here. Thoughts?

Matt Jones is a self promoting blow hard. He’s not as great as a debater as he proposes and his minions are just as sickening. He’s the first on air UK personality to boost himself over our programs. To Jones it’s not about winning it’s about him being right. He’s treated UK like the political arena pitting fans against one another. Someone else needs to emerge who puts our sports programs first bc Matt Jones is a charlatan.
He provides a great service for the average fans who don’t frequent message boards. Most hate him for political reasons from what I can gather...KSR is a great site. I know many have the argument he rips from this forum which may or may not be true, idk. I just like the site a lot and don’t really care if he’s a libtard, so I personally don’t relate with the MJ hater crowd or the MJ suck off crowd for that matter.

When I read UK fans on this board say things like this, All I can think is they called into the KSR radio show and were made a fool, or said something dumb on the radio and they blame Matt Jones. You just sound like a hater man ... and a touch of jealousy.
I think the show is fantastic and very entertaining. And Matt Jones seems like a pretty good debater to me.... hey but everybody has their own opinion.

So much wrong with your premise here. First off what makes you think we are refreshing his page every 5 minutes. Almost none of the news on this site comes from Matt Jones, it's usually the other way around. The fact that you see the same info in both places does not mean that we got it from Matt.
Second most of the Matt Jones topics here are created by posters that would kiss the ground he walks on. The rest of the posters, even the Matt-neutral ones typically don't cover anything he says or does.

Love having a show that talks UK sports year round. He does venture off topic some, but the show is entertaining if you don’t take it so seriously, which sounds like you do. Glad he is on the air. I enjoy it daily either live or on podcast. And if anything he brings UK fans closer together instead of pitting us fans against one another. Have no clue what you are taking agout there.

This right here is what I don’t get. I don’t care if you like him or not, Jones wants to be controversial so he’s controversial. With that comes a large chunk that hate you.
What’s weird to me the most, is this assumption that people who don’t care for him are “jealous”. His supporters say it a lot.

So to me the biggest question is why do Jones supporters use it to defend him so much? I don’t “like” Jones because he’s a weasel that wants support from the same people he holds an arrogant animosity toward and I feel like he’s exaggerated his position for years. I also think he’s definitely sound with information inside of UK, but not the recruiting scene. So I’m not someone who isn’t thinking when it comes to Jones, I just see what I see. I’ve never once though to myself “Man I want to be Matt Jones”. Cool job, but I’m good on the rest of him.

I personally don’t really have an opinion on him beyond I like KSR as a site (the grilles actually pretty good too) but I vehemently disagree with his politics so its all pretty much net zero’s for me. I can relate with both sides of the MJ debate. I went out and listened to him speak last night. He had a thing at 3rd Turn Brewery in Louisville. He did more politics than sports but here are a few thoughts.
My only real problem with him is his contention that he treats all people fairly and doesn't talk down to people. I strongly disagree. Anyone that has listened to his show has heard it. An example is that I've heard him talking to people who say they aren't coming to his restaurant because they don't like his politics. He gets his marble mouth going and makes fun of them and I've heard him say (marble mouthed) "yeah, making decisions about where you are going to eat based on politics is really smart." That's fine if that's what you believe but you can't tell me that and then that you aren't eating Chick Fil A anymore because of the guys views on gay marriage. Either it's stupid to make those decisions based on politics or it isn't.
I really think he is trying to take the Obama route to getting elected. He even mentioned it last night when he was talking about people trying to beat McConnell. He wants to become a public figure for something other than politics and then go into that. More rock star than politician. It's probably a pretty smart way to get reelected.
I actually got to talk to him for a minute and I asked him if he ever had plans for a KS Bar in Louisville. It doesn't sound like he has any interest. He doesn't think it would work other than game days which may be true. I know we had that one place here for a while that failed but I think he would have a better marketing campaign then they did. They also had a crap beer selection. You can't do that to people anymore.
