There must be something in there that he gets paid for every timeout he takes to the locker room. Honestly, his clock management at the end of the game was Joker-esque.

time management did not hurt us at all. By having the time outs, he kept the ability to run. We just couldn't get a first down.

Why are the time-outs an issue? We didn't run out of time; we were going to run out of downs, not time, even if there hadn't been the interception. If anything, the clock was played well; if we do the job on offense, and score, then Florida is not left with much time to regain the lead. If we move the chains, we have three time-outs left, and with the clock stopping on first downs, we had ample time. We didn't run out of time, we simply choked.

Wrong. Did we run out of time? You know the reason we didn't use time outs...because if we scored we may have needed them afterwards. Or if we got within goal line distance...we may have needed them there. What makes you think we should have used them otherwise...we had an opportunity to finish the game out and leave no time on the board...didn't happen. Also, didn't want to give florida the opportunity to regroup while we were on O. Are you suggesting he use them just to use them?

Time is an issue because it appears Towles felt he had to force the ball down the field because of the clock. I'm not sure why he felt like that or if that was really the play that the coaching staff called, but I would disagree that the clock was played well. Still, the clock wasn't the deciding factor in the game, that was the interception.

Think. Baker hits the big slant play for 25 yards. But, that was what, 3rd or 4th down? If he had dropped it and we turned it over on downs, we still were able to preserve 3 timeouts which would allow us a small chance at stopping Florida one last time and getting the ball back with 30 seconds or so.

But, once we got the ball to the 50, it became clear with only a minute or so left (and a Towle egregious sack) that he had to use one.

I actually thought not using the timeouts was wise.
