Some basketball heads still gonna roll at espn?

Marc Stein is out. That may be old news though. I can't keep up.

 Someone PLEASE offer Vitale a retirement package?!?!?
Wondering if there isn't something going on. Active on twitter yet not a word about the espn folks who have lost their jobs.

I would not keep a guy around that edits his draft board after the NBA Draft takes place. Surprised he was there 16 years with those kind of stunts. I remember him trying to be the funny guy on Sportscenter in 2009 when they asked him who the last pick in the draft would be. He said Jodie Meeks and laughed. Jodie Meeks went 19 spots ahead of last and is still in the league.

Really?

Would only like it from the perspective that it helps proves one side of a long-running argument.
Adding on to that. I would like it from the stand point I'm tired of ESPN putting his ugly mug on over 25% of the screen while the games are in play. We can hear him give his spiel without having to see him. It did not happen to UK this year but did the year before. Other teams got it in games I watched this year and pissed a lot of fans off.

Bracketology should be a roughly 3 week gig leading up to the tourney. Lunardis current setup is basically the equivalent of a store stocking Easter baskets all year long.

I actually liked Katz he wasn't that bad. There are a few others I would have gotten rid of before him.

IMO, Katz got less annoying over the years. About 15 years ago, there was Andy Katz overload during the NCAA tourney.

There's been more balance in recent years, and he seems to have learned to focus on his strengths and not be annoying.

I could be wrong, but doesn't seem they've let go of any of the game color commentators, play by play ppl.

Don't understand how le batard is still there, especially if they actually are paying his dad on that awful show

Yeah, ESPN has surprised me with a few of the people they let go. No surprise almost no NFL guys were touched. I was a bit surprised that Kanell was let go. I think he is a smug Ahole, but putting that aside he generally seemed to be a good analyst and a good radio co-host with Rusillo after SVP left the show.

All of the "bigger name " guys/girls that got let go will all find willing participants at Fox, CBS, NBC, etc, to hire them so I'm not gonna weep too much for them. Plus this gets them out of crappy CT, so look on the bright side peeps.

ESPN got rid of people who can actually write an article that would get someone to read. They chose to go with ex jocks to keep on TV and get rid of people who can tell stories and create website content.
