If so, which recruits would that effect and will they take wins away from those other schools as well? Kanter was ruled permanently ineligible here because of money he received elsewhere. Since he never played for us it didn't effect us, but I'm sure the recruits who attended the stripper parties all played at other universities. This would cause a huge mess if those players were ruled ineligible as well.

The big problem I have with this is these were recruiting violations REGARDLESS if the players went to uofl or not. But even as heavy as these rulings were today, they were still only penalized for the players that went to Louisville!

When we got out on probation for the money going to the recruit in the Eddie Sutton days, we paid a huge price when he didn't even play for us. So how are they only in trouble for games the players played. Hell, the report even specified at least 7 and as many as 10 recruits were under age! I may be in the minority, but simply vacating wins is a bandaid. It doesn't hurt uofl at all and they should have recruiting sanctions NO MATTER WHAT.

As the second poster said, the NCAA gave those recruits immunity. That is how the NCAA got a lot of the evidence it used to build the case, particularly from Blakeney and Lyle. Same way it works in the real world.

They gave the recruits immunity.

Thanks for the replies. I must have missed the immunity part. Saves a major headache for the NCAA. They need as much brain power as possible to figure out how they will let UNC get off.

Careful, you are going to get labeled saying something as accurate as that.
