Towles actually played pretty solid outside of those two dumb INTs. 4 total TDs and 69% completion percentage and over 300+ yards. Barker would not have done any better than that I can near assure you.

The "play Barker" crowd needs to give it a rest already. Defense gave up 27 points tonight to EKU and our OLine was manhandled. We also only had 50 yards of rushing or so....(which is obviously Towles fault).
Yeah, they should have put him in in the middle of the fourth quarter, no chance of winning by then.

I'm guessing you think Barker would have completed all of his passes tonight (were he to play), and he would have laid all TD passes to the WRs perfectly.
Barker - who hasn't played one down of football for UK - would have this team 5-0. No doubt about it.

You people defending Towles play are truly living in another world. Kid is constantly bailed out by his receivers and is totally flustered when pressure is in his face. He can usually only lock onto his first target and will take a sack when he should throw it away. Poor guy folds like paper. Paper Towels. I swear, we almost lost to Eastern for chris sakes. He couldn't recognize an open receiver if he had a full minute back there.

I couldn't begin to tell you what Barker would have done tonight, ive never seen him play. Hell, who knows he may be way worse. Players seem to devolve after being coached by this staff. i'm just describing what I and many others see time and time again out of our current starting qb.
Exactly. We have fans who want to risk a near sure loss to see if Barker plays "way worse" or "better" but to each their own. The problem is the uneducated UK fans think FB is a 1 on 1 sport, QB vs. QB. Sadly you win and lose as a team.

I was talking about the QB not the team, I agree it is a team game and they executed almost as horribly as their qb in this game. once again you infer something that is completely incorrect and try to skirt the issue. although it is a team game each position has a part to play and execute.
They should have left. That's pathetic to come out at home that way, after you've already had one scare against crap competition. This team needs to get serious. The fans aren't the issue.
You might be right, but from what I've seen of Barker, the upside for him is so much grander it's scary. Give him the starting spot from the onset and he might have thrown for 500 against a team like eastern and led us to an easy win. We just don't know.

His job isn't to only throw 2 interception and overthrow 15 yard passes against eastern. It's not to just air up 300 desperation yards at the end of a game like that.

If you wanna go off of numbers (which the nut huggers seem to want to do) the numbers he's putting up, considering we are running the air raid offense against EASTERN KENTUCKY are beyond pathetic.
Just about any other air raid team in a power 5 conference would have hung 50 on them.

And S&C...you are right, we do not know. Stoops is not going to bench the more experienced guy for the redshirt-frosh when he 100% needs a bowl game this season. Maybe Barker plays a series or two against AU and some in other games to get some experience going forward, but outside of Towles just playing like human garbage and leading UK to an 0-4 mark in the next 4 I doubt we see a change this season as to who starts.
No I agree he wouldn't just come in, say, in this game, and dominate. Some of us asking for Barker now is just fans bitching. We know it's not happening and shouldn't probably happen now. But at Halftime of this game, I would have benched Pat, and there's plenty of coaches who might have considered it. To me, he looks like he's having trouble commanding leadership of his offense. That kind of shit is what causes this kind of game. When everyone isn't motivated, your QB has to motivate.

Way too many intellectually deprived posters on this forum. Football games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage. Tonight we were for most of the game manhandled on both sides of the line of scrimmage!!!!
Barker will NEVER play significant minutes here, and has already been recruited over. I have tried to tell you guys this all year. watch and learn....
