I attended the football game Saturday and due to the increased number of commercials it is unwatchable . Ad’s said they wanted
to shorten The game by giving customers less product . They now let the clock run when someone goes out of bounds (except for
final two minutes of each half ) and after first downs .
However it did not shorten the game because it was simply a ruse to add more commercials and therefore more commercial breaks .
No team could ever get any momentum.painful to each . Will b worse when it turns cold and guy with red hat continually stops game to show commercials.

Since the AD’s have made it clear their only interest is milking every last dollar out of both TV and the fans in football what will they
do to screw up basketball. Football players only play about six minutes in each game . Basketball players forty .
So will they run clock during free throws ? During timeouts ? Cut the halves to 15 minutes . How exactly will they screwup basketball as well?

For a second I thought we had multiple Athletic Administrators. I mean, Mitch has his hands full. Don't ask.

Football is way to long anyway. Let the clock run and people in the stands drink. Tailgating is the order of the day on Saturdays in the Fall.

Well the core football rule book...there is no need to stop the clock for a first down. To be honest, I'm fine with the new clock not stopping rule and disappointed we then decide to artificially make up the rule to stop the clock under 2 minutes for no reason at all.

Basketball only needs to quit stopping the game for bogus reasons like going to the monitor for silly ass elbows and made up flagrant baloney to that Doug Shows can priss around like a peacock for the camera. The game of basketball was meant to be played with flow and not constant clock stoppages.

I’ve always preferred NFL game clock rules to college. There’s no reason to stop the clock to move the chains, nor is there a reason to stop the clock when a player goes out of bounds with 14:32 remaining in the second quarter.

I would prefer NFL rules across the board - spot foul for PI and a player with the ball can get back up if he is not touched down by an opponent.

Not big on the extra commercials.

Good point about the increased commercialism. TV money will always come first. We have seen this in every facet of college sports. All this conference realignment, are due to these mega tv deals the big time conferences strike. I suspect college basketball to move to four quarters soon, which is I’ll give more breaks in the game.

Football is only too long due to all the commercial breaks and tv timeouts. The game itself is a 2.5-3 hour game tops even w the old
Clock stoppage rules

The solution to football is only show full screen commercials during halftime and between quarters. Once the quarter starts it should be banner ads or picture-in-picture ads in the corner like international soccer does it
