So how bad is LSU gonna drub UGA tonight?...

Thecreal question should be: How bad is LSU going to get drubbed on Saturday?

Well, it's gonna be a tough game on the road, without a doubt. LSU is tough at home, but they're not unbeatable. Kentucky went down there and ran into a buzzsaw. It didn't help that our Cats looked like they were sleepwalking in that game most of the time, with the exception of a couple players. It also didn't help that LSU played over their heads that day.

Having said that, LSU is vulnerable to a team like Georgia, in my opinion. You've got Frazier, Gaines, and Mann, who are gonna have some advantages on LSU's guards, and you've got a mobile big guy like Maten to at least slow down Simmons. You've also got some beef down low in Ogbeide to help with rebounding. So, I think there is hope. LSU has a lot of talent, but they don't play defense. And they're also undisciplined most of the time and they depend on their athleticism to win. So, they may be taking Georgia lightly. If that is the case, the Dawgs could sneak out with a win.

That's the thing about college basketball- you just never know what might happen with college kids. Momentum and effort/intensity are very fluid variables. If you have a team that starts with hot shooting, the other team might melt. Some guy just broke up with his girlfriend, another had too much to drink last night, another is thinking they're gonna roll over Georgia at home with no problem. LSU is not a great team. They do play better against big name teams, but Georgia isn't big this season. We'll see.

If it helps, I'll be rooting for the Bulldogs. :D

Will the gym be packed? Will LSU be staging some big purple out or something? Will Shaq be there? I'm assuming the answer to all of those will be no, and you can see the difference between when we come to town and UGA.

A good possibility that UGA can catch LSU looking ahead to the OU game. LSU isn't all that special. Good players, decent team, terrible coach

LSU was nearly beaten by a very mediocre Bama team last Saturday. That should give Georgia plenty of hope.

Excellent stuff ya'll. Hopefully, UGA can continue to play decent defense and stick with their inside out game with Maten and the guards.

FT shooting is going to make me destroy my TV at times though.

I am probably going to want to shoot my TV. Here's to hoping Gaines has six 3 balls like he did down there last year.

In all seriousness, I think this will be a very good game as long as we just don't completely fold. We're very much an enigma this year.

LSU is small potatoes. They aren't a worry. They are going to accumulate 5+ losses in te SEC. We need to worry about aTm. Hopefully someone can jump up and bite them. Mississippi State came close and Missouri actually went into Aggieland and put a bit of a scare into them. We can catch them but we are going to need some help.

Holy moly TXAM looked good the other day against us. Then again, who knows which dawg team will show up game to game.

Hey Molardawg, we UK fans can relate to losing it over free throw shooting. Every basketball player and fan ought to know- those are free points that every player needs to be able to make. And it can be the difference between winning and losing OR winning comfortably and only scraping by. We want wins, comfortable wins preferably. We don't need the anxiety. Haha! :D

LsU really not a team that blows a lot of teams out...but they will get blownout against OU

No doubt... nothing is more maddening than watching your team put up a bunch of bricks from the charity stripe. Georgia was lucky to beat ARK on Saturday while missing 15 FTs.

Anyhow, I know most Cats fans are big watchers of CBB in general and figured I'd ask for insights. Rupp rafters never disappoints.

Watched parts of this game along with Ala and UT,Vandy and UF. I hesitate to post about the officiating but since UK isn't involved and I really didn't care which teams won these games I will.

I thought the officiating was scary bad in LSU/UGA, pretty awful in Ala/UT and decent in Vandy/UF. I didn't see all of any of the games.Anyone have any thoughts?

Is it just me or does it seem like LSU plays all their games at home?
Georgia made mistakes all game long, fought to get it to 2 with 12 seconds left than crapped the bed again. I was pulling hard for UGA but agsin LSU does just enough to win an ugly game.

LSU shot 55 free throws to our 24. Simmons single-handedly fouled out Maten, Edwards, and Kessler all with more than 10+ minutes left in the first half. I've never seen anything like it. Hands-down the worst officiated game I've ever laid eyes on. Catering to Simmons doesn't even begin to describe it. Have no idea how we had a chance to win it at the end.

I agree,I have watched basketball for a long time and haven't seen much that I can compare that game with. (didn't see it all) It looked like the officials lost control of the game at times, just stood and watched part of the time and made phantom calls at other times.Neither team seemed to know what to make of it.It was strange.

LSU knew what to make of it..... by the way of stepping to the FT line 55 times.

maybe if they cared to pay for home cooking more in the OOC season, they wouldnt be in desperation mode now

That's the part that bugs me the most - if these guys could just be consistently bad, teams could make some sort of adjustment for it.

55 free throws is just silly I mean come on !!! I agree GTD If the DAWGS thought about guarding Simmons tonight there was a foul called !! in the words of Coach K AMAZING !!!!

55!!!???? Didn't watch. Did anybody on either team get tired from walking so much? With that many fouls called...can't imagine that there was a lot of running/sprinting down the court.

It'll be interesting to see how they call Saturday's game down there. Buddy Heild is more of an outside shooter but I'm interested to see if they whistle him for a lot of fouls on the defensive end.

Georgia got a bad whistle at LSU. Simmons gets the Jordan treatment. If he is in the lane and misses a shot, it's an automatic foul. I thought the Vandy and Florida game was pretty fairly officiated. I didn't watch any of UT-Alabama.

And still had a chance to win. Not sure what player it was that passed up the open three from the corner at the end but he has to take that shot. Unless of course it was someone like Marcus Lee who has never taken or hit a three in their life.

Passed up the three but what was worse was the shot they did get was a heavily guarded off balance shot. You're on the road and all of your guys are either on the bench due to foul trouble or close to it. Take the three and hope to get a tip in if it misses. A couple of Georgia's guys were feeling it from 3 point range. Give the ball to Charles Mann and let him fire away.

I watched tha game in amazement that Mark Fox didn't get tossed. That was some of the worst officiating I have ever seen. Simmons is the most protected player I have seen come into the SEC. It is beyond ridiculous. Not only that but his whining after getting called for a foul is sickening. I guess the guy expects to be protected on both ends of the floor. And yet through all that Georgia had a chance to win at the end and probably would have if they hadn't panicked and got the ball in their point guards hands cleared out and let him create his own shot. LSU could not stay in front of him.

+1000...He's getting every call and was still whining!

JJ Frazier essentially single-handedly brought you back from a 12 point deficit with under a minute to go. Let him take the last shot. Things could spiral downward for us very quickly the rest of the way. Wouldn't shock me to see Fox's seat really heat up after this season.

Germantown...I hope not about Fox. IF he can just land a few big time recruits, maybe our ceiling with change. We just don't have the depth to compete with the better programs. I fear we are destined to be who we have always been in bball due to the football culture though.

This is my fear as well. I feel like we play that if game every year in regards to recruiting, and I think it HAS gotten better to some extent, but we'll just have to see. We landed a couple of top 100 guards in the '16 class and the '17 class looks promising. I won't be holding my breath though.

UGA's basketball situation is about like UK's situation in football, there are too many big rocks to climb over to get near the top.Basketball is somewhat easier cause you don't need as many difference makers to come in order to make a difference.
