So, I went to dinner last night with some people from work and one of my co-workers brought her husband. We were talking about Kentucky, because he knew or heard I was a UK fan. He said that he coached a guy associated with Kentucky in little league, but kind of doubted if I would know him. He went on to tell me that the person he coached was Neil Price.
I told him about how sad I was that Price moved on to Miss. State and how I probably wouldn't have the interest in UK baseball that I do were it not for Price. He told me that Price was a chubby kid growing up and that he was really only playing baseball so his mom could get him out of the house and off the couch. Said that Price had more interest in playing in the dirt in the dugout than actually playing the game and that he'd often sit on his glove and claim he couldn't find it so he could avoid going into the game.
Was pretty cool to hear the stories about Neil and have that crazy small world type moment.
